Recorded from my DVD player no problem but I've been trying to use the HT splitter with no success. I've got a music video which I put in the left hand box then drag it to the box at the bottom then click on Merge convert, a pop up box then appears which says 'Select AVI format' but the OK button is grayed out. The same thing happens with a DVD which I've used 'DVD Shrink' to get on my PC, I grab the biggest VIDEO_TS file but have the same problem, both can be played in the preview window. What am I doing wrong?0

typan.record from your dvd player its so much easier.
Beancounter. After you have selected video record, hold menu down till the settings comes on,flick the toggle to get the first line ,to line in so its not camera. You should then have the movie player on the PMP screen.i then click record a short time, and for me i have to click on menu and it start recording.I can hear and see the movie on the PMP screen while its recording.I have pulled the scart lead out of the home tv because i then have to watch what i am recording .with scart lead out ,i can watch any channel on the tv.0 -
I have checked all our tv's, dvd's and our sky+ box. On all of them I can find the video in sockets, but all I can find are audio out but no video out
Am I being thick or do I just own rubbish equipment?
Anyone help? I would really like to record off the Sky as dvd's I can just put on the computer.
Just found this, would it solve my problem? Scart and av in/out box
Thanks
ps Did anyone find a cure for the moving to the next video after 15mins problem?0 -

hi received mine yesterday impressions so far , screen is excellent speakers same as archos version quiet video better than expected still camera not great but ok connecting to computer easy and moving files fantastic ,takes about a minute to transfer 700 mb film in avi format got about 20 on plus 2gb of music very fast and easy no problems playing films though have found on one film when i fast forwarded for long periods sound and picture went out of sync, played on tv great but havent recorded from that yet. Very very pleased with it i think if you can use a mobile phones menu system this wouldnt be much different. just my opinion.0

Thanks, I maybe didn't make it too clear. I am getting the video through the line in socket but only if I pull the plug half way out. Even then there is no sound. If plug is put fully into the line in then I just get silence and a blank screen0
