Well, I've raised my concerns and someone has looked at the messages, but they can't tell me what action they may or may not take due to privacy laws. I won't be communicating with the seller anymore, that is for sure.
Privacy laws! Nonsense trotted out to avoid dealing with something.

Or to prevent someone telling you who has accused you of something, or to protect people in the case of an accusation that turns out to be unfair.

Quick followup: It is now saying in My Ebay 'you need to pay for 1 item'. The item itself shows 'Your payment has been refunded' and in the closed case it says 'The seller has issued a full refund of £X.XX to your PayPal account and the case is closed.'

Can I safely ignore the 'you need to pay for 1 item' reminder?

Previously, when I seller has refunded me without me having to go through all this, the transaction was cancelled and I did not even get the option of paying again.

You should be able to mark it as paid, or archive it so it disappears.
