    Hello All

Hester - hope you enjoy your day and live a long and happy life together.
    JG - Happy Anniversary.
Pen Pin - Good to hear from you, take care of yourself.
Hugs to anyone else in need or want.

Not been on for a few days due to work and haven't really caught up with what's happening, will try to do that later. Same old routine here, work and work! Off tomorrow and Monday night so hope to catch up with some housework. Managing to keep up with the washing which is a plus!

Had a bit of a fall out with a teacher at school yesterday who informed me she could look after her own class and then slammed the door in my face! Some of the staff have had it too easy for quite a while and they don't like the new head making a few changes - some will be found out for being bone idle!!

Anyway, off to get a few bits of shopping, raining again so no garden or washing drying outside. Take care. XX

Thinking of you today Hester and the Minder. I know it will be very special for you whatever the weather is like.
JackieG and MrG - have a lovely anniversary - now what were you saying about the sun always shining on 18th? I'll do my best to keep the rain over here. We certainly have enough for the whole country.
PenPin - Lovely to see you posting. Peeps often ask how you are doing on here. Sorry that you've had time in hospital but am glad that you are home now and being well looked after. You're right, time flies. Good luck to DD for her exam results. She works hard, I know.
Managed to get out with the dogs between showers and now looks like the rain is on for a good while. It's that small smushy 'wet' rain:p. Had to go to the PO to post an Amazon sale but it isn't too far so not too wet. Have hung my trousers up to dry off and am sporting my pyjama bottoms .
Soup pot empty so will make some more, think carrot and lentil. DH doesn't like lentils apparently but he always likes this soup. He just doesn't need to know about the lentils.
Making some more chicken stew as didn't make enough yesterday so am annoyed about wasting electricity but ah well.
3 weddings today: Hester and Minder's, my DD is going to one on a farm in Perthshire and my Dsis is going to one in Derbyshire. I was another June bride - we had our anniversary on June1st. I'm sure everyone will have fab days.
(((hugs))) to those who are feeling unwell, sad or worried. Hello to any newbies. You won't feel new for long. This is always such a friendly thread and there is so much support on it.
    Take care all

The washing is outside although it isn't warm and it's still threatening to rain!
PenPin - hope you start to feel much better, good luck to DD for both her results and her finding a summer job, wish I had been able to start a job after my GCSEs!

Off to try and hunt out a chicken casserole recipe and empty the dishwasher

Time for bed for me: it's now 20 past midnight on Saturday. I didn't get the rolls done so will have to buy those. oh well. The Kenwood would've been lovely but unfortunately I can't get the beaters to stay at the correct length. It unscrews fine, but I can't get the nut to move away from the section of the shaft where the bars stick out to engage the mixer. :( Fortunately I bought a second Kenwood, in better condition, the following day (yes, not very MSE, but it was second-hand and I can sell whichever one I don't use) so we'll see how that goes when it arrives later this week.

I've worked out that if I can stick to my stews and shepherd's pies and things, plus home made bread, I can live on about NZ $50 (25 pounds) a week, which will let me save loads more cash. Recently, with bought food and without buying bread, I've been living on $80 to $90 a week! Hopefully the Kenwood will solve that problem by enabling me to make things faster, and thus get good food into me during the evenings before I'm too tired, lose interest, and have to go to bed. On that note, goodnight! :)

    Afternoon Al

HH - hope everything is going well and the rain has held off, we really could do with sending you some sun and heat today with was 39.7C on the solarium about 1pm, we are resting in the shade after nipping to the market early on and the supermarket. We have that gorgeous blue sky today, I think you only get that colour out here.

It is forecast to be a little cooler tomorrow. But as we come out here for the sun and the heat, we mustn't complain.

Went to the "Chinese Shops" there are oodles of them out here, and when out here last they had wool and needles in, and I fancied doing some, only to find none in them, I think they must think they are a winter occupation. I do have some needles out here but no wool. Think I will dig out a cross-stitch I have out here.

    Take care all - DG

It has been tipping it here - really heavy, but about an hour ago it cleared up and the sun came out.
I've put the washing out and it is warm with a decent breeze so fingers crossed it will all dry.

Hope HH has this weather in her garden as I'm not that far away. Although the grass is a bit damp underfoot, the weather is fine for socialising outside at the moment. Fingers crossed.
