It's out of order to threaten to sue someone just because they called you a thief when at that time you appeared to have taken their money and not provided the goods. A far more reasonable response would have been to post here that it had been resolved and ask the forum member to post an update confirming this.

The only reason I am following this thread is I am considering personalised cake toppers for my wedding next year, and thought if you had had short term problems which had now been resolved, I'd consider your toppers. I understand that small one man businesses can struggle at times.

However your disproportionate (threatening to sue someone for libel? Really?!) and frankly at times hysterical (typing all in capitals is shouting, therefore quite rude) responses are far more damning than the complaints above and mean I could never place an order with you.
  • Now, when you google 'Boogie Babies Cake Toppers' this thread comes out at no. 4 - which will definitely hurt the business further.

So, by replying to post the site owner has pushed this post to the top of the google search. If, nothing had been said I imagine that it would have been on the 2nd or 3rd google page by now being the original post is over a year old.

Please note Kerry, that this is a public forum and as such we have the right to express opinions about what is brought up on here.

Unfortunately being an 'opinion' doesn't automatically defend against defamation. BUT being an 'opinion based on facts' does. (Which these are). Based on a quick google of UK Law I would say the posters have nothing to worry about, otherwise MSE Bods would have removed this thread a long time ago.

How do I get a right of reply on what's been said about my company?
If you're from a company, have seen a post you feel is defamatory or offensive and would like the right of reply please email the Forum Team at forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com to ask.

A member of the MSE Team will carry out checks to confirm that you are authorised to represent the company in question.

Provided you have authority to represent your company, you may either be asked to give a statement, which one of the MSE Team will post on your behalf in reply, or be given permission to post directly on the specific thread.

Where permission has been given for you to post directly on a thread, a note from the MSE Team will appear on the thread confirming this.

If someone has posted claiming to be from a company but this has not been followed by a MSE Team note confirming authorisation please use the warning triangle in the bottom right of the post to report it, or email the link to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com. (Which I have done)

There is one, single exception to this rule. If you're from a company and have a discount code you'd like to offer MoneySavers this rule is waived in the Great Want to Offer MoneySavers a Discount? Hunt. You can post your discount once only, on that thread but nowhere else on the forum and shouldn't post about your company anywhere else on the forum.
  • Well this issue seems to be continuing and it is now may 2014! When people do not get a reply the next thought is to look at reviews which I have just done! I cant imagine this company will stay busy for long shame as the product looks fantastic! Customer service is key to buisness if you dont have it you wont last long!
