Well on Saturday morning, approx 44 days after the original delivery date, 10 ignored emails (bar one in which i had to threaten to take things further), one sent letter and three missed delivery dates my cake toppers eventually arrived..yeeah!!

They are lovely which is why i ordered them from Boogie Babys in the first place. But unfortunately I would finally like to pass on a word of caution to any brides who are thinking of using Boogie Babys.

Whilst the product is great, if you struggle with the unknown, get frustrated when ppl dont reply to your emails, or hate it when ppl say sorry but make lots of excuses about not communicating and then treat you as if you should be grateful for the "cheap" price you have paid for a product....then consider, reconsider and.... reconsider once again before you decide to use this company.

Maybe out of the wedding season these problems may not have occurred but nevertheless business is business and there is no excuse for ignoring your customers... it only takes a moment to send an email and had this happened this situation would have been easily resolved.

Hope the other brides who are having problems get their toppers in time for their big day!! I'm just glad this stress is now all over and I can get on with enjoying my wedding planning. :T

Well said about bussiness being bussiness and in this day if age bussiness need customers to stay afloat.

i've been following this thread and am sooo pleased you have your toppers at last! I run a wedding related business and would be ashamed to treat my customers like that, an email takes 30 seconds to send . i hope you can put it all behind you and have a fab wedding. x

Is a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!

    TTC first baby Jan 2013
  • We are having the same problems with Boogiebabys! :-(

less than 3 weeks till wedding and not getting any response from them 2 delivery dates missed!

Has anyone got a telephone number?????

    Thanks
  • Hi there.

I am new onto the forum and only stumbled across this because I was looking for contact detail for Boogie Babys.

I'm afrid I fall into the same boat as a lot of you. I have paid £106 for my Platinum bride and groom.

I was given an original delivery date of the 15th July, but that date came and went. I emailed the company on the 18th July and got a reply from someone who told me that worked with Kerry and that she would find out what was going on.

I got another e-mail from the 'helper' saying that my topper would be posted out on the Monday (25th July) and should be with me for the Tuesday (26th) NOTHING!

Again I emailed, asking someone to call me as a matter of urgency. The helper replied apologising, saying she would again find out what was going on. The next responce was that she couldnt reach her, but it would be likely that she would be able to get hold of Kerry the following day (now the 28th July) telling me not to worry and that my topper would definately be there on time.

On the 28th the 'helper' mailed again telling me that the topper would be posted out on Saturday (30th July) and that Kerry apologises for the constant delays.

    NOTHING!!!!!

I sent a number of e-mails but with no reply and eventually my H2B sent a lengthy, to the point message, stating how angry we both were etc (2nd August) The following day (3rd) we received an e-mail from Kerry herself, full of excusses (her child had been ill, she had had an operation etc) appologies, promises and kisses (!?!?!) She even said that my topper was the one that she was going to be finishing off that night and she would contact us the following day with delivery information.

    Hope! At last!!!

    NO!!!!!!

Another e-mail from her the next day (4th) she mailed with another reason that the topper was not going to be sent out as she had told me it would be. This time there was a problem with her car. BUT, she promised that she would post it tomorrow, without fail.......with more kisses (!?!?!)

    IT DIDN'T COME!!!!!!!!

Since then, H2B and I have sent e-mails that have not been responed to and we have both tried calling mobile and land line, but with no luck.

We're now ready to take the next step......followed by legal action.

This is absolutely pathetic, disgusting and unaceptable!!

To top is off......We get married NEXT THURSDAY!!!!!! (18th August)

I am really sorry to hear that more couples are having these problems..you would hope lessons would be learned from this co. who are clearly taking on more than they can manage....i can only advise to be persistent, document everything, send an official letter in post...and if all else fails apply to online court for money back.

    good luck
    :(
  • I have had the same problem, I found this forum to see if anyone else had the same experience and to see if they were a scam company- after reading the threads i have just made a dispute through paypal, hopefully this will erge her to resolve this,

If she is recovering from an opp she really should not have been accepting any orders, unacceptable.

My wedding is in less than 10 days on (2nd of September)
We went for the platimum toppers as I really wanted the figures to be a supprise to guests and give an added wow factor to the cake. it cost little over £170 for me groom and flower girl, & the worse thing is we have no time to order one from another company.

The service at the beginning was quick and friendly but now I am disgusted with it.

I hope that I do recieve them but I will not recommend them.
  • I can't believe how many people this has affected, and theres probably a ton more who aren't here.

We are getting married this Sunday!? and still have not received our cake toppers.

We received a couple of emails from her last week saying that she was really really sorry and that she's had so many problems happening to her and our cake toppers would definitely be in the post the next day....that was last week?!

We've since tried to email her a number of times and tried phoning a mobile no. i found on another website, but no answer and no reply.

Think she is just a compulsive liar. Its so disappointing, I know its not going to make or break the day, but we all want everything to be perfect for our big day. And when you spend the money you expect the service and decency for someone to respond to your emails etc?!!

Looks like we're going to have a empty space at the top of our cake!

Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. Only fools are statues every day. (15.09.12 cant wait!)
  • Please note that i am not a terrible person, last year i had so many problems yes i do work on my own yes my product is fantastic and very cheap yes my communication is bad, please note that no one came back and said they didnt receive their toppers in time, i have a 2 year old daughter, who has severe asthma, last year my son was getting bullied at school and had to deal with him crying all the time, in april my daughter had her first massive asthma attack at 18 months and we had to stay in hospital for a week, in june i had to have an operation on my carpal tunnel.....all topper companies send your toppers off 2 weeks before your wedding, if you want to ruin my business and my life because i am struggling to keep my head above water, i am sure none of you have a 7 year old and a 2 year old work as a mum, house holder and then in the evening i start work at 8.00 when kids down till 3.00am in the morning, then up at 7.00 do school run walking total of 6 miles there back there and back.
My work is outstanding and i have never let anyone down yet, i have problems as i am human but more problems as i have a young family and i run my own business, please feel free to ruin my business so i can go on the dole and scrounge from all of you hard working tax payers, do you think this would be better? I am very sorry for my lack of communication but i would love to hear from anyone who has had a topper and said yes it was worth the 2 week delay!! Think about it, i am very sorry but please dont ruin my business, i am not a scammer or con artist!!!!

hi there, unfortunately we are experiencing exactly the same problems. We ordered a platinum cake topper back in march this year and paid £98 to include postage. We received an email back from kerry at boogie babys thanking us for the order and giving a due date of 26th may 2011. After a week over this time, i sent her an email to just check that things were ok - we had not recevied any communication from her since the march email. I heard nothing so sent another email and when i didn't hear back from this one either, we found her number online. However the phone is never picked up and the voicemails and many emails we have left have not been answered. Our wedding is next saturday 2nd july so we have given up hope that we're going to receive our topper in time. We are so disappointed but also really angry that they dare take our money and not deliver the goods. We have tried to recover the cost from paypal but have been informed that you have to lodge a complaint withing 45 days so anyone else should be aware of this. We were wondering if we were the only ones this has happened to but it looks like a recurring theme and they should not get away with it any longer. If anyone has any advise of who else we can contact to try and reclaim the money back to get her business stopped, please let us know! Thanks.
