Hi, I'm thinking about starting Wikaniko, have read lots of good things about them, and wondered if anyone who is already doing it can tell me more... any stories of how much time you needed to put in to get a decent business going, and keep it going. Looking for some extra cash to supplement or maybe eventually replace my part-time jobs.
Thanks, Jo

Thanks - I'll have a look on there.... might make a cuppa first though as it looks like quite a read!!0

I looked into it a couple of years ago when I was thinking of starting a business. The reason I rejected it was because the products were so expensive and you could get similar products much cheaper elsewhere so agents were struggling to sell. Other than the prices of products, it seemed like a good idea.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0

It depends i think what you mean by so expensive - compared to what? If you compare them to other eco-friendly/organic items of similar quality they are most definately not expensive. Take black bags for example £1.79 for 20 which will disappear in 18 months to 2 yrs, i used to pay the same for bags that will be still be around in landfill for 100s of years. I am getting better results using brochures than i did with two other companies i have been with so i wouldn't say i was struggling. Alot of the toiletries are own brand so can't be bought elsewhere and the ingredients are as natural as possible and are on par to the more expensive eco ranges in my opinion.
A Business has to tick your boxes and as many of them as possible. I have waited six years for mine, i knew what i wanted and kept my ear to the ground never thinking i would ever find it but i haveits as perfect as they want it to beIts still developing as it grows but i find that exciting.

I was giving an unbiased opinion on my findings when I looked into it as a business opportunity. My findings showed that many of the products were expensive compared to comparative products in supermarkets and online and I found no reason why people would pay a premium from an unknown company.
What I did conclude, from a lot of research, was that the profit to be made in Wikaniko was from recruiting more agents. The higher up the pyramid you push yourself, the more income you can make. Selling products becomes secondary to the real business here - MLM.
In addition, I think that the current economic climate is putting such a squeeze on household incomes that the 'premium' market is becoming more and more niche. Jobs are insecure, prices for basic items, including staple foods, are rocketing. At the moment, I think your market for bio-degradable bin bags is incredibly small and shrinking.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0 -
niftyone my interest is from a consumer point of view - the prices are good and the products are lovely
I am not a distributor - maybe in time I will join though
I also appreciate what I found in my own research regarding this particular business - my findings have included a non-biased, third party report stating what an ethical business this is.
mizzbiz - I also found in my research that more profit is spread around the lower levels in this business which makes a refreshing changeIf you research again hun you will find that percentages of income increase in the amount of sales you do
This is brilliant - it means that for people who join who are not interested in building a team can concentrate on putting more hours into their own selling should they wish and earn more money
