DD1 has just told me that Nick Clegg is coming to their school this afternoon. the 6th formers were told to come to an 'important' assembly this morning and that there may be photos later . they were told in the assembly that he was coming ( bet they didnt dare tell them earlier in case they drummed up a lynch mob!) i'm not sure how his visit will go down as these 6 th formers are the 1st lot to be affected by the new university fees :eek:0

hello all, and good luck tomorrow HH and many more wonderful days for you both.
gary my lovely gardener came this morning to attack my Jungle (my lawn) which hasn't been done since last year A wonderful wildlife preserve (my words) a blooming jungle (my Dds words)he did a good two hours and will return next week with the mower to finish it off.He is a lovely chap who can't get any work as he is in early stages of MS but can still manage a bit of gardening .So I am more than pleased to give him a helping hand, as he is a bit more mobile than I am bless him.Last year he could drive but this year has said he's given it up as he didn't think he was that safe to do it anymore. He is such a cheerful guy and only in his early 40s.life can be so unfair at times .
Tomorrow is DDs school fete where she works so I am hoping for a bit of dry weather .I will take my three DGS along as they love school fetes and the school has lots of games that the children can join in with.Plus its a good cause as the special-needs schools come way down the list for funding from the local LEA.
I am waiting to hear from Canterbury as to what my marks are for this year.I only have one more year to do of my course, and we're not sure if they will be funding it or not. Which would be a shame as we have all worked very hard over the past 3 years
Son-in-law has heard from the KCC that they can offer him another job in the council but he will need to take a £4K pay-cut.I suppose thats one way of cutting back on things ,they know that with a mortgage and five children he can't refuse the offer .
Just came back from the bank and I thought as I went past the butchers that I really fancied a lamb chump chop I picked out a nice one that wasn't too thick and was quite lean and nearly fwell over at the price £2.50 I bought it,though it probably will be the last one I'll buy for a long while. I have a nice big vat of parsnip and apple soup on the go at the moment so I should have around three litres to portion up by lunchtime in half litre soup bags.
History calss this afternoon which I always enjoy so I'm off to sort out some lunch Have a good day everyone
Take care

P.S.Gintotmelinda ,could you post your soup recipe as I have just spotted it and it looks like the sort of soup I would enjoy, plus I seem to have a glut of tomato's in my fridge at the moment0 -

No probs
2 large bramley cooking apples (I have used eating apples when then have started to go a bit wrinkly )
4-5 parsnips
2 veg stock cubes
crumble up stock cubes to a powder add two-to-three litres of water .Peel and chop to oxo-sized cubes the parsnips, and throw them in the pan. Cook to a simmer until just starting to soften.Peel and chop apples and chuck them in on top, cook until all is soft and you can stick a knife through them.Whizz up in a food mixer or blender and portion up.Its beautiful and easy peasy to make I sometimes add a teaspoon of ground cinnamon or nutmeg to spice it up a bit .I love home made soups ,my friend bought me a book called 'The Soup Bible' and its great for recipes.I haven't bought tinned soup for years as it is so easy to make and uses up and tired and past it veg in the bottom of the fridge drawer0 -
Thanks for all the good wishes.
Meat is cooked, sliced, plattered up & in the fridge.
Sausage rolls, ditto.

It's wet and miserable here
Hester - enjoy your takeaway tonight, and good luck for tomorrow
More bloomin admin for me today in work, feel like I'm chained to the photocopier at mo :rotfl:
I'm going out tonight with uni peepsgoing for chinese and a few drinks. Gutted about the rain cos I was gonna wear my maxi dress, may still wear it though. Also tad gutted cos one of the uni girls works on a posh makeup counter and text me to say I could pop in and have my makeup done for free today if I wanted, but she works in the other town where my sister office is so can't get there as I'm stuck here all day
. Ah well, will have to do my own!
OS wise - made packed lunch this morning. have collected a few cardboard boxes from work for moving too.
Have a great day all

Hester have a wonderful day tomorrow. :T Your nexts doors daughter sounds like a right rude so&so.
Sorry I've not been here for a few days. I hope all is well.
My children are off today as it's a teacher training day. They were supposed to have the school fun run yesterday but it was rained off. Tomorrow I am helping at the schools farmers market. I'm on the teas & coffees. By myself. Noone else can help! I have already beenleft with the float.
Am changing school from Sept for DS1 as am not happy with a few things. DD is going to high school & ds2 only 2 it's no hardship to change. TBH, I'm not impressed with some of the other children & the parents are, errm, no good either.I am no snob but my son has to come first.
DH wants steak for his Fathers Day dinner. It was just over £7.50 for 2 sirloin steaks. They are a good size so the older 2 children can share between them. Meat is so expensive. I don't eat it, but the others do.
Essex-Girl, take care of yourself. Please don't do too much.
Weather awful here, but it's good for the grass!
I need to get on with the housework & shopping list for next month.
Take care all
Love, (((hugs))) & spoons

Oh & Lou, that'll be your 'ormones luv!
My hair still hasn't recovered after having DS2, my 3rd. It used to be thick & lucious (sp) but now it's thin & lank. It's still falling out.0
