Our Christmas tree was bought today and I've just finished decorating it! It looks really quite nice. We HAVE to have a real tree as I love the smell of them! :D

I've also planned a lesson for tomorrow's supply teaching/interview day, just in case I get observed. They're going to be doing "Wanted" posters for Santa!

Tomorrow night we're having supper at a friend's house near where we used to live - and very close to where DH works, so I won't be back on here until Tuesday evening (after another day of supply teaching in another school!).

    Take care everyone

    Evening!

Happy Birthday Foreverskint! - hope you've had a great day!:T

Not long got home from work and have walked the dogs. very quiet at work without my resident, I support 5 people to live as independantly as possible in a small residential home so the loss of one of them is enormous. There has to be a post mortem so the funeral wont be until the new year.
The remaining residents are off to a carol service tonight at a local 'happy clappy' church where they give out chocolate in the service! so they'll have fun.

Am off to have a soak inthe bath before tea soon.Later I plan to watch Julie Walters on TV at 9pm.

    Hope you're all well.

    More hugs to Joannasmum xxx

    take care all xx

Have cleaned the bathroom, written the Xmas cards and wrapped up as many presents as we can. I have to wrap a few more of OHs - will wait until hes out of the way - pick up some cellophane for hampers and that will be it! Think I will get on with the ironing now, ready to put another washload on tonight.

Oh, and in cleaning out the bathroom, I found something very precious to me that I thought I'd lost in the move - the perfume that my Aunt had specially made for me on my 18th. I would have been devastated if I'd lost it nd had been looking everywhere, but I found it so am very very happy about that.

Edit:- Husband has just been instructed to make the kids baked potatoes with beans and cheese for dinner. He asked me if he needed to wash the baked beans :rotfl:

Today DD and I have attempted to go Christmas shopping, didn't get very far, as wasn't overly enthused by the thought anyway! MIL's pressie ..... it's not that I don't like her, it's just that I lack inspiration.

We went round various pottery seconds shops ... and then we went to Emma Bridgewater's and decided to a) have lunch and b) take part in the pottery cafe ...... we painted a plate (DD) and a butter dish (mine) ..... did have to rescue DD's plate .. as she started off promisingly, but it ended up black, and I do think that being a goth at 3 is a little too young!

Giblet stock for Christmas has now been done and in the freezer :)

DD's room has been tidied, but not yet cleaned (no point, DH still creating dust) ... and she has a real Christmas tree in her room decorated (total height 18 inches, LOL) I bought it last yr from Ikea and it's still alive (where's the icon for amazement!!!).

Right, time to de-junkify this desk.

    Ciao all .....

Went to Lidl this morning and stocked up on basic food plus lebkuchen, cookies etc.

Had chicken thighs marinated in olive oil, herbs and spices, roast potatoes, home made large yorkshire pud, sprouts and cauli with sweetcorn and peas for DDs.

Just had chocolate cheesecake which I bought at Sainsburys and everyone enjoyed it.

Will need to get a grip of the ironing tomorrow. Still need to wrap a few presents and want to avoid busy shopping centres if I can.

Just had a phone call to say someone is calling to pick up the adjustable elecric bed on Tuesday.

    Hugs to all.

Awww Keth, thanks. That's really kind of you but I have been able to adapt some stuff I already have - basically some fancy ribbon and a some drawing pins. :D

Well, all the Christmas cards are written and i will get them posted tomorrow.

Only just remembered DS has an orthodontist appointment tomorrow afternoon so no overtime for me AND I have to pay my salary cheque into the bank before 3.30 if it is to be credited tomorrow. Lots of rushing about for me tomorrow then.

    Bye for now, Annie x

Well the Yorkshires were better, the little ones were half muffins and half ok, and the big one was great, except for the fact that the first time my yorkshire rises properly it hit the elements in the cooker and burned the top slightly :rotfl: just my luck, when it goes right something else goes wrong :rotfl:

Well I've just got in, been to a memorial for someone I know who died last week of leukemia, only 20 years old, makes you realise just how short life can be.

Going to have a cuppa then an early night, goodnight everyone :santa2:
One day I might be more organised...........

Well, we're back from a really magical day. Went up to London and to the open air icerink at the Natural History Museum. My slot was 5:15pm, so it was dark (I planned that), and all the lights were on in the trees and around, and with the air old and crisp it was really magical skating! I loved every minute of it!
Then OH surprised me with dinner at a Chinese on the way home.
    It was so great! :T
