Catowen I watched it! The tiger won
(which I voted for). It was between the tiger, the panda and the mountain gorilla. They said half the prize money would go to the tiger and the other half would be divided between the other 7.Here is the website.
Thank you!!!! DS very happy as he wanted the tiger to win, DD not so as she was wanting the polar bear to win!!!!0 -
Hello friendly OS peeps :santa2:
(((hugs))) to those in need, but not too close to you sickies cos I don't want anything over Xmas
Report on the Nelski party - was fab. (I did my Anthea challenge too and can report a spotlessly clean house. This was before too much Baileys had been consumed as well :rotfl: ) So, lots of food, drinkies (Although I didn't over indulge) and chatter until the early hours of the morning. Got to bed at 3am
Am now back home as Mr TM is out today, charity bag-packing with his cadets. They make loads of money for their squadron, so it's great. Boys missed their mummy suitable amounts too :rotfl: Today I have loads of ironing to do and I want to get the xmas tree put up in the front room, as have only done the back room one so far. I have loads of stuff listed on ebay that's finishing today too - I hope it all goes to people in this country as it will be a nightmare to send it overseas... lots of customs forms and the like
I quite fancy making scones now you've all been going on about them. Maybe when I have my mince pie making day next week, I'll do some. Do they freeze well or are they one of those things that's always better fresh? My boys don't finish school until Friday 22nd (lunch-time) so I have 4 1/2 days to get the final bits sorted (although I expect I'll be at mum's quite a lot) Also, my sister is very down at the moment as my BIL has just gone out to Iraq for 4 months, so some cheer needed there.
Righty-ho, gotta go and switch that iron on and maybe watch one of my mindless xmas films (I like "Mixed Nuts" and "Love Actually" at this time of year)
Have a great day, and Happy Birthday Foreverskint :bdaycake:

Hi Yall, Phew! I'm taking a quick breather while things are quiet. We all marched off to church this morning to see the three MATHLETTs in the the Nativity. Que some near perfect Frankinsence handing over, stable keeping and dignified Angel Flapping! all captured on the camcorder along with the previous 11 years LOL. The Mathletts are out at the Sunday School party which Mrs MATH will collect them from later as I am a tidge over the limit!
Plans for this afternoon are to snuggle down and watch something seasonal and sentimental on TV, if I can't talk on of the kidz into snuggling up, one of the cats will be co-opted, failing that I may have to throw caution to the wind and snuggle with Mrs MATH LOL
Tonight we are off to the Candle Light Carol service which is my favourite service of the whole year. The older two MATHLETTs are soloing and there is something magical about the whole event. I hope not to make the same mistake as last year where I sang descant at the top of my lungs and then almost lost my voice when I stood up to read the lesson! This year I shall pace myself LOL
Not much OS planned for the coming week. The kidz are only at school Mon and Tue so it's hardly worth starting the usual routine. That's my story and Mrs MATH seems to have bought it so I'm sticking to it. LOL
Enjoy the rest of the day

Afternoon all :hello:
Happy birthday foreverskint!
Well, Nigella blueberry muffins are currently rising away in the oven. DH is about to make chocolate beetroot muffins for his work colleagues. Apparently they're all taking something into work this week and as the vacuum-packed beetroot, a la the recipe, is one of the products that his company produces, then it's only fitting that he makes them. Possibly a little bit of sampling is required.
We've also got a few bananas on the turn, so they will require turning into a banana loaf or muffins. I think that I might make a couple of 1lb loaves and give one of them to Grandma as part of her Christmas present. Probably give the other one to my brother - he went to house sit for my Grandpa when he went into hospital earlier this year. Grandpa died, but my brother never moved out .
I have a teensy weensy mini-confession. Last night we watched Strictly Come Dancing AND The X-Factor. Now, we're always saying who should win but never actually vote......... so we voted for Leona. *cough* We're never normally so frivolous, but her rendition of A Million Love Songs with Take That was just fab. This is on the understanding that next weekend we vote for Mark on Strictly..............
The blueberry muffins are smelling deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevine, so I'd better go and retrieve them from the oven!
Take care all

Afternoon everyone,
I've been having (yet another) lazy day and it's getting a bit boring now. I'm really fed up of my house needing a clean and things needing to be done - but I still feel so tired, like I've no energy and I'm still feeling really sick. The week at work really takes it out of me but I've got 2.5 weeks off coming up from Friday so can't really complain. I'm planning to get some cleaning and tidying done on Friday, shopping on Saturday, then friends over on Sunday - hopefully that will all be achievable since we're not having a busy Christmas day (just the two of us).
I had my works' Christmas do on Friday which was fun - but very difficult to explain why I wasn't drinking - I'm not sure everyone bought my story of driving. There's an advert on my local telly at the moment which asks "why can't we let anyone refuse a drink?" - so true!
I wish I hadn't read this thread today as I've been watching the rerun of the XFactor on ITV1 and now I know who won!!! I was trying really hard not to look at any websites that might give it away. Oh well, not to worry.
Joannasmum - I'm thinking of you.
Lots of love
