if there are no problems and everythings fine the buyer should confirm it and leave feedback first, i mean they've paid for the item and all but anything could go wrong from shipping, didn't read listing correctly etc. leaving you in the dark so the seller really should be putting feedback last

however it seems no one cares as sellers can't even leave negs and i know most of the things i've bought the seller just leaves feedback when they ship/after payment. so apparently it doesn't matter much! just do what you feel is right, is this worth annoying an already fussy buyer who can leave a negs or neutrals? your choice really!
Buyers have no reason to be responsible for anything other than payment for the item. Sellers are the ones who are responsible if anything goes wrong. Shipping is not the buyer's problem, and although there could be issues with "not reading" the listing, if an item is misdescribed or damaged in transit, then it's the seller's responsibility to deal with it - hence the importance of feedback when dealing with sellers.

The two sides of the equation are not equal and never have been.

Sorry, I don't agree. I am giving her good customer service by sending her item to her. Feedback is not a compulsory part of the process and I'm not going to change the way I use ebay by leaving her feedback now. I feel uncomfortable being harangued by a buyer like this. Why is she so keen to get feedback immediately? As far as I'm concerned, I leave it once the customer has their item.

And I am afraid, therein lies your problem.

If she leaves you crap feedback in return, ask for it to be reviewed by ebay, and then block her.

I was with you right up until you gave in!
I've got somebody i bought a mug off sending me messages asking me to leave feedback. He sent me 3 before i even had chance to collect it from the post office and another one the other day.. so he can wait a bit longer and have some manners.

Completely the opposite scenario to the OP!

I don't blame you making the seller wait for their feedback. I don't think sellers should chase feedback or if they feel they must then should only ask once. I never chase my buyers for feedback, its just inviting trouble!
