Me too, I'm obviously full of doom and gloom as I always think 'what if my car doesn't start or I get run over on the way and the stuff doesn't get posted?' If for any reason I need to wrap but can't post for a couple of days (say at a bank holiday) I use the note system to remind myself what is packed and what is not.

I really don't mind sellers marking things despatched when they wrap even if item doesn't go to the next day. However, I can see no possible reason for a large business seller to mark as despatched and not actually bother posting for another 10 days.

Ha ha - thats what i do. We are all either very conscientious - or just nuts :rotfl:

Your right - misleading buyers usually back-fires.

But I do it the other way. I put a dispatch time of 4 days now - but always post same or next day. Result - less complaints, and people are pleasantly surprised when it arrives quickly. I sometimes put 2nd class as the free option - when i am actually posting 1st class.

Yes i know - less people will bid - but i will do every thing i can, not to be hounded by angry ebayers asking why their items have not arrived the next day. Anything for a quiet life :D

I appreciate this doesn't really help with the issue you have when adding tracking info though. Personally, I never give out tracking info unless I'm asked for it because of the problems that can occur when a Recorded Delivery status doesn't update on Track and Trace.

I used to withhold tracking info myself, until asked. Once they left feedback, i would add it to myebay, for my own records.

But when the new system kicked in - people were emailing me asking if i have sent them another item by mistake (they were getting the dispached email).

So now i just add tracking as i go along. But i've started getting emails asking why the tracking info is not updating, or why is my parcel not moving. You can't win.

Some see it as not updated after they recieve it - and it gives them dishonest ideas. I just tell them the online screen is not the same screen royal mail see - and it ALWAYS updates and shows delivered at their end. Makes them think twice. :)

My normal 'walking' postie has just delivered an ebay parcel to me in 'the van', something you rarely see him doing.

'I was just about to query when this had been posted' was my first comment to him, 'was told it had been posted last Monday'.

'We're a bit behind this week' was his reply, 'cleared everything by Friday but this week they were busy.

So maybe not the sellers fault after all. But who knows for sure, I had no email to say it had been posted just the tick in MY Ebay, if it WAS posted on Monday even using 2nd should really have been here by the weekend!.

Anyway I've got it and it wasn't urgent...but I havn't left FB yet!

Unfortunately in my case the sellers themselves have inadvertently proved that they sent items considerably after they originally claimed. In one instance I have the email from paypal telling me the postage was paid for yesterday, despite seller assuring me it was sent over a wek ago. I also have a scanne dcopy of a POP that again clearly shows a date considerably after I was assured it was despatched.

I can assure you that these sellers will not be getting a positive from me.

OMG i cant believe these posts
    a. Buyers have now started harassing sellers who dont post the next day, they dont bother to look at the site to see when someone posts. I myself post three times a week because I live at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills and the nearest post office is 28 miles away. There is nothing worse than the buyer who cant wait five minutes. For such as you there are, well shops

Then you clearly didn't read the posts because you have missed the point completely.

    do explain then

Okay: people are complaining that the seller has said "item was posted on 6th", but when the item arrives, it clearly shows from the postage label that it was posted on 11th. There is no complaint about when it arrived, simply that the seller lied.

Another: a seller creates a Paypal postage label to post the item. The seller does that on 6th, and it automatically notifies the buyer. The seller then posts the item and tells the buyer it was posted on 1st. No complaint about waiting, simply that seller lied.

Another: a seller creates a Paypal postage label to post the item, and deliberately covers up the date they were posted (6th) and tells the seller they were dispatched a week earlier. No complaint about waiting, simply that the seller lied.

I hope that clears things up. :)

' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".

One person played the 'sorry I got muddled as my child was suddenly taken ill' card, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and left a positive that did mention slow despatch, and I went to a 3* on despatch and a 4* on communication.

The other one was a big seller who ought to know better, so I left a neutral and a low star in despatch as right up to the last he was insisting it was posted on one day when I could clearly see it wasn't even labelled until a week later.
