May all who mock have full enjoyment of their next holiday! Because what comes around goes around!
I'm curious what you think the owner should have done?
The offered to put traps down as soon as they possibly could/the same day you reported it, what would have been the ideal solution for you?
Assuming the place wasn't falling down (i'm sure you would have said) It seems to me that they have taken all reasonable steps to deal with the issue - they have no more control over whether the mouse came in than you did and i'm afraid it is part of life in the country.
I don't fancy your chances in the small claims court given the above. Also to describe them as gangsters - i'm not sure that helped your cause. I accept it's not nice if your on holiday - imagining where else they've been etc but i don't think you can reasonably 'blame' the ownersDon’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.0 -
Im alarmed that a few posts suggest that mice was in my kitchen, arent mice supposed to have small teeth?0

It's entirely possible that there wasn't a single rodent in residence until you enticed them in by leaving out a delicious buffet for them.0

Apples, wow!0

To a rodent apples are a delicious buffet. As they are to many animals. Did you see that little water-vole on last night's Springwatch?0
-
No sorry I missed that now, not really a rodent fan!0

Then you wouldn't have enjoyed the sight of the brown rat having a go at the water-vole's apple first.0

No not at all. Save those exciting programmes for viewing on my next holidays probably this time next year.0 -
I too would have been upset. I would say your chances with the agent are nil as they usually say they are only agents so would focus on owner. Was the property rated by Tourist board? It is a bit late now but if the property was infested prior to stay and owner aware then think world of difference to a mouse straying in as can happen in the country. Although not as common as some posters suggest in my experience!
