 :( I've just realised I've got no jobs booked in at the moment. Haven't had that for ages!!

Still, usually whenever this happens I find it then majorly picks up and I'm too busy!! Hopefully the same will happen this time and I can squeeze in as much as poss in Oct/Nov, as I think I may well go on a bit of a strike over December as I made the mistake last year, which was my first year of doing MSing, of doing lots too near Christmas, and of course every visit took 5 times as long as it should have because the shops were soooo busy!! Plus I'm due at the end of the year, so I will be very pregnant! Difficult enough to squeeze through the shops when your the size of a whale, so unnecessary trips will be kept to a minimum!! :D

Marketforce appear to only operate in the US & Canada (At least you need a US or Canadian address to sign up with them) so there is probably limited experience in working for them, also given they aren't truly operating in Europe I wouldn't imagine there would be significant changes in the short term (unless 'Retail Eyes' are effectively allocating a UK/Europe program for a customer based in the US/Canada).

Good Lord. Some of the allocators are RE are so bloody thick. If you explain something in detail, why the hell do they not understand it? I even told him how I felt when I could not complete the visit! Are they and the proof readers all bloody numpties or what?

    Mimi,
The thing you need to bear in mind is that often the 'guidance' given to proofreaders as what they should look for in an answer from a shopper is different to the guidance given to the shopper. ie one specific example I saw for a restaurant family visit:

Shopper's guidance said comment on 1 Starter, 1 Main, 1 Dessert. Proofreader guidance said that shopper should comment on all meals.
  • Done an RE bookies job, the one with the bandits.

It was superb,I didnt even have to talk to anyone apart from the potential looter in the shell suit who talked me through the nudges.

I would do these for a living.
  • I haven't done a bandits job yet (first one's tomorrow!) but I really like the bookies ones. Firstly, there's always the chance of winning money, which you get to keep! But in the shops for that particular client, I've always found there's a lovely, friendly atmosphere, and the staff seem to have a great rapport with everyone - and the nice hot chocolate you get when using the 'loyalty card' is a bonus too!

Quick question for all your hot sexy people. LOL.

I tried doing an electrical visit for a computer on last weekend. Went in, browsed, saw 2 mos, 1 in computer section with customer, 1 fannying about. After 5 minutes, I approach the 1 fannying about. He rudely tells me he is manning the tvs and that I should wait for the mos in computer section. Mos in computers now busy filling online form with customers as has sold a laptop. Browse and wander around the store for a further 20 minutes. Mos in computers still filling form in. I abandon visit. Waiting half an hour should be enough.

Should I get paid something for attempting the above visit or am I at fault for not waiting another hour? Please advise.

Haha! I agree I did one last week and another tomorrow, Easiest job and I was in profit by the time I spent my stake! Even the reports are fairly easy for RE standards!

I think thats more than reasonable. Have you filled in the report? As in the bits that you can?

I did a gyp chicken yesterday but the store is closed for refurb! chicken tasted awful...

PS I really think that 'fannying about' should be allowed to be used when writing reports. I often tell my students to stop fannying about and they look at me gone out.

I think it depends who it was for.I think if its the GR one then there is a time limit so you are ok. The mos you approached should have got you some help.
At the end of the day it is what it is and it was a real experience.

I am guessing they want to see if staff interact with the punters but looking at my fellow travellers i can understand why they would not.

I watched some young pinhead shuffle around £100 into a machine without getting a sniff. He then left the shop and returned about 10 mins later and stuck another £50 in.

They should have counselors on site.
