    Hello,

I am mystery shopping for Service Scan at present and enjoy it very much. But as I am semi-retired I now have lots of time on my hands and would like to do more of this work.

I would be grateful if experienced people can suggest which ones are the best companies to apply for. I was turned down by GAPBusters for some unknown reason (I used to be on their books but my account had been suspended ages ago, again I do not know why). There are so many companies that it is difficult to decide which ones are worth being with.

Thank you for any help you can give me.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

I did three betting shops recently for RE. Two were passed straight away for payment, one resulted in a proofreading query. It went a bit like this:

RE: Can you please provide the approximate height of the staff member?
Me: No. He was sitting down behind a counter for the duration of my visit.
RE: Despite this being the case, can you please give the staff member's approximate height?
Me: Fine. I estimate that he was 6 feet tall. However, as he was seated and visible only from the chest up, I have no idea how accurate this is, and it may in fact render the description I gave less accurate than it was without this information. The staff member may in fact be 5'2".

The job has now been passed for payment.

In the original report, I had provided the staff member's name and a full description (minus the height of course!), plus the photo I uploaded had a cashier's reference number on it. But still, RE want me to pick a random number out of my head which will serve no purpose whatsoever. Still, as long as I get paid.....! :rotfl:

Please can somebody give me a gun to shoot the RE proof readers! 7 queries all on 1 report! a blurry receipt request, So I upload the same picture and it gets accepted. I was asked what clothing the assistant was wearing so I reply 'uniform.' Do they even get trained for the job?

How weird - just received a "Thank you for agreeing to complete an evaluation for GAPbuster Worldwide" email , and there is a new job showing in my account (for a coffee shop on Friday) which I never applied for because I'm going to be nowhere near it !!!!

Do people always lose a points from RE when the proof readers raise a query?

Wow, I just did a theme park one the other day (8 visits) and have seen many of you complaining how long it takes. But it was an absolute nightmare! Wish I had listened to you all now and not just tried to get a good day out! I think my kids thought the point of a theme park is to run from one food outlet to the next as fast as possible without looking at the rides or Mummy's gonna start crying! :rotfl::rotfl:

Is it still showing? Have they tried calling? I had something similar once - a random burger showed up and then was promptly showing as rejected when I looked a bit later. It coincided with a missed call from them so I wondered if they added assuming they would convince me to do it??

I did one too with 8 visits. I have to say I enjoyed it mostly because my kids are as into doing MS (aged 11 and 9) as I am and just basically do my job for me, writing down names and descriptions and asking questions I tell them. It also looks a lot more natural a 9 year old boy looking at a name badge than a dad! It is just up to me to write the reports that night. That is four 'magician' outlets done now in a month.:)

Yup, but most of the time the trolls take off 2 points. Not that the points mean anything. I thought when I got to 1000, I would become a super duper trouper mystery shopper, but nothing like that happened. LOL.
