Would love to use that as one but I can't BF unfortunately. I never have any milk come in - fried eggs me! But I will put in about GA depriving me of first few hours!
They dont know that.. they wont have read that far in your notes

But in some respects, if you do end up with one, the staff are used to them and therefore have more experience
I know, well it's the hospital all problem births/labours go to here and has the most births in the whole of the country every year. Apparently historically the rate of C Section in N.I has always been higher, according to my doctor. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

Never had a problem there I have to admit. The only fault is the flipping carpark! Got to go and see the anaesthetist there next week at stupid 3pm just in time for visiting hours in the hospital - bet I can't park!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
Just looked it up and it's 79th with 28% of births being c-sections. But actually, it's not just the hospital I'm going to, it includes all the hospitals under that NHS Trust
http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2009/oct/28/caesarean-birth-statistics-hospital-england
LANCASHIRE TEACHING HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST NW 4886 69 9 12 22
so 22% are c sections 12% of those are emergencies
9% elective
69 % vertex whatever that means
out of 4886 births thats what..say 5k births divided by 22 percent take away 14 divided by 22 percent equals 1026.06 c sections devided by the three hospitals that you can have babies at 342.02 c sections per hospital per year almost one a day, in fact its more because you cant have a c section at one of those three hospitals you get transfered to the new hospital.0 -
actually the last post wasnt correct because it seems the 2 units have there own stats.
BLACKBURN HOSPITALS NW 3731 66 9 13 22
34 BURNLEY HOSPITALS NW 2525 67 10 13 23
those are my choices both pretty high rates imho0 -

I've been having growth scans at Kidderminster and very much the same there - if you're any later than 8.30 you have NO hope of parking as all the staff park for free in the only car park so fill it up! :mad:0 -
im still waiting for my dating scan
it needs to hurry up or they will be merging it with my 20 week scan at this rate

Lovecrafting there was a site someone posted here with intervention stats (sections, forceps etc) and the local unit had a green light (no interventons) and the hospital unit had a red light and loads of stuff about a high number of interventions...
No mention whatsoever that that's the hospital all the high risk women HAVE to go to and that if you run into trouble on the mw led unit you get packed off in an ambulance with your legs up and bits out, and that they don't induce at the MW led unit...
Why let facts get in the way of making everyone think hospital units are awful lol.
FWIW I had all mine in the big hospital unit here with the massive red intervention light and been more than happy every timeMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
