  • Kandy- The thought of going to full term is scaring you and causing you distress because you're concerned about the size of the baby and the almost definite risk of complications if you were to go into labour. Add that to the severe pain you are experiencing in your pelvis and you really think it would be best to have it early!

Have not yet been induced due to going into labour naturally at half 7, coincidentally as soon as they put the ctg on. had an hour of beautiful contractions, 20 secs every 2 mins, had an internal where i was 2.5 cm dilated abduction promptly stopped contracting!

So am having another ctg at 11, then getting gelled, then hopefully will have a baby soon!!!!!

  • Thanks everyone. Really chuffed but just a little bit nervous too.

Kandboys. Thanks, my due date is the 27th of January. (but I think it'll be earlier)

And some of the vouchers in the bounty packs expire on the 31st of September which is why they were giving ours out yesterday.

I got 2. No need for more but they have the really handy thin packets of huggies/pampers wipes and mini sudocrem pots which I put in the changing bag. Also bottles of Palmers Cocoa butter lotion which I love.

And I for one, will definitely *not* be taking my placenta home. Eurgh...

  • good luck everyone who is in labour.having c sections/waiting for gel to work.

i want a bounty pack :( mind you i got one from sainsburys the other day, the mum to be one and it was a complete waste of paper, there was more junk in there than anything else, some vitamins, iron i think it was, that is out of date and a little pack of pampers wipes, they were handy.
  • Hoping someone in the know will help with a maternity pay query.

I thought I had it all planned but have just seen that SMP is taxed and National Insuranced. Does anyone know roughly what it will work out as after tax? I now have a feeling my budget isn't going to balance. and I am beginning to panic.

I have looked on the gov website and am just getting more confused.

lol thats one dinner you wouldnt want to share with the in laws eww

altho, in some cultures its widley accepted that the placenta is given to women to empower them...not in my house, its given to the gods to give thanks for keeping the baby safe (apart from the last one wich went to the lab because it was all nasty and broken)

Actually I would LOVE to feed them it... lol....
