im still waiting for the chicken to defrost...been out since 10am lol im not sure whats going on had heating on all day too its like an oven in here and thats still not defrosted!!!

Thats useless. If you want SMP, you HAVE to give it (MAtB1) in in time, and 28 weeks is too late to give the required 15 weeks notice.
I do have a 28week midwife appointment as well, but that is for standard booking blood retests and a separate GTT, and is at the hospital. My appointment notes say i had to also book a 26 week community appointment which is the usual checks, plus getting the Mat B1 which has to be done between 20-26 weeks.

Oh and the starting mat leave on a Sunday thing is a Myth. Lots of people believe it is but as far as I can see there is no truth in it.

Unfortunately Mr Knight, my emplyers dont see it as a myth. Just been and read our online maternity guidance on what info i must give, and i quote

"Expected week of child birth (EWC): this must be on a Sunday (i.e. the Sunday before the expected date of childbirth) and entered in the format DDMMMYYYY (e.g. 05Jul2005).
Start date for statutory maternity pay: this can be any day if the baby is expected on or after 1 April 2007". BUT "The start date for SMP (start of maternity leave NOT annual leave) MUST be on or before the EWC."

So if my EWC is starting on Sunday 25th Dec, the latest i can start my SMP, is also Sun 25th Dec. Although if i wanted to waste more of my 90% i could start it on another day and go more than a week before EDD. Bums.

Do you have to get the MatB1 from a midwife? I see my doctor in between hospital appointments. I don't have a midwife!

i dont know if it will help but with my last baby i was under gp led care in fact this is the first pregnancy i have had midwife led care and the gp gave me my matb1
