I love middle names that mean something in our family if that makes sense? DS1 has the middle name of my uncle and grandad on my dad's side (they had same middle name) and DS2 the middle name of my dad and my mum's dad (again same middle name!). This one ought to have something from DH's side I guess! Although his parents don't know the significance of the boys' middle names luckily!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

One of the conversations with DSD.
'William! That's grandad's name, and daddy's name.'
'Right, why do you think everyone calls your dad by his middle name?'
'Mummy! So they don't get confused of course!'
'Ok. So why do you want to add another one into the mix?'
She went away quietly to think that one out....0 -
Bless children. They're so cute.
I actually know of a family where all the males for the past 40 years either have one name or another. What is the deal with that? The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
I love Orla, thats so pretty. I'd like to use my granddad's name as a middle name, for emotional reasons - but it seems really cruel! His name was Grenville!0

Oh not something you can use then haha.
I wanted to use my Dad's name as a middle name, but he has said absolutely under no circumstances as he hates it, but I think it's nice. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

For boys we've got either Theo or Benjamin on the list, with Paul as a middle name as it was my OH's brother's name, who died when my OH was young. Girl's names we're struggling with! Everything I suggest, OH isn't keen on (and the names he likes I think are really boring! :rotfl:), although he has started to come around on Lily. I love Hermione, but our surname starts with H so I don't think it'd go. And other girl's names I really like rhyme with our surname, so they're out. I love Phoebe too but my SIL earmarked it when she was pregnant last year, and even though she ended up having a boy (called Herbie), I don't feel like I can use it now, as she 'picked it first' IYSWIM, even though I've loved it for years!
My friend had a little girl last week and they've called her Lola Rose
I used to have a cat called Barney...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0
