DH and I took DSD to an outdoor interactive museum today- they bake bread and show you what life was like in Irelandand America centuries ago, at the emigration.

DSD loved it.... Even had her sitting in an old schoolroom writing on a slate with graphite. I didn't do as well though- was starting to feel very dizzy towards the end of it. Had to get DH to help me in and out of the car, as I couldn't lift my legs..... Damn,I'm getting unfit and immobile fast!

Now ensconsed on sofa with dogs atmy feet- absolutely knackered......

    Forumgrazer, many congrats!

    Twinkle, it won't be long!

Think I'm overtired Sammy, I read that as Formaldehyde Milkshake, which would probably be lethal  maybe I should go to bed lol
Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession :o:o
  • I've been continuing the tidy up mission, today's goal, to walk past the printer without a cascade of junk falling off! :D Don't think I lifted anything heavier than a ream of printer paper, but my back is burning! Maybe all the crawling under the table for everything that's drifted off the back? :D Heartburn is also horrible again today, and I can't even have any milk unless we don't want breakfast. I may have to make a trip to the doc after all.

On the bright side, Mum dropped off a Rolling Stones shirt for the baby to go with the ACDC one she already got... and in 40 minutes I'll be 24 weeks. It's been a long time coming!
  • Aimless- congrats on v day. And hope you're not aching tomorrow.

I let the desire to have a tidy wardrobe and dressing table overcome the sensible side of me that knew it would hurt! My poor hips, I hope baby doesn't come tonight because I don't think I could handle an ounce more pain. And to top it off we had the bath resealed this morning so I can't even have a bath! :-(

Off to try and join DH in the land of nod.

    Night night

ps. Puzzled- Happy due day. X

urgh it's almost 5 am and i've been awake hours worrying. ive posted and told you that baby is back to back, she's also big, i am also overdue.
ive been reading up on B2B labours, they can be long and often result in baby getting stuck, needing forceps, and even ending up with a section,(esp cos of size too) i can cope with that however, i am panicing now about how long i'm gonna be in the hospital for, i can honestly see myself in labour for two days and then having a section and staying in for another 2 days, cos i just know that she isnt gonna come of her own accord and i'm gonna be induced, this may not sound like a problem but it is.........
my daughter is diabetic (she's 4) and has just moved up a class at school, her new teacher has never met her and has never given her any blood tests or injections yet, she had training last week but obviously i'm not gonna just send little legs to school and think the teacher is gonna manage ok, i want to be there for the 1st week at least to oversee all the tests and to be reassured that she is doing them right and daughter is comfortable with her doing them.
as it is i am in a lot of pain walking and have kept her off school for now until i have the baby, the school are ok with this, they know i'm being induced on the 14th and have said aslong as she starts back on the 19th it's fine (up til now her year haven't had full days at school, it's like a transistion period to get them used to being there all day)
and this is where i get worried, what if i do go through all of the above with labour and a section, i am gonna be totally stuck, i dont really have that much help, mother lives in the next town, can't/wont do blood tests or injections, she gets very upset seeing her have them done and constantly worries over it.Sister who lives close by but she has 3 kids under 5, a full time job and alot on her plate and a "partner" for reasons i'm not going bother with is neither use nor ornement, to put it bluntly, i'm gonna be b*ggered.
would you think i have grounds to miss out the labour totally and go in for a section? can i request one? i mean, if instead of being induced on wed, i had a section, then i'd have 5 days to get myself sorted, rather than being induced, spend however long getting nowhere then end up having a section anyway. ( i am not worried or scared about labour, this ones my 3rd and had the other 2 without problems) i can then have little legs brought up to me in the hospital and me do her injections and focus on getting home, up and about, i will worry constantly during labour about my daughter and wont be able to concerntrate on doing the job in hand iykwim?
sorry for waffling but i have so many thoughts and scenarios going through my head it's making me feel ill.
any suggestions or advice would be greatly received :)
    Skint, but happy (ish):p
  • Twinkle, are you under a consultant for the babies size or anything else? If you are then you need to speak to them.
Also can a health visitor or community nurse help with little ones injections?
Sorry I've not been much help but I think its one of those things tjatd depends entirely on the drs and midwives, it seems like they could say yes because its causing you undue stress and if baby would struggle to come out anywaythen its logical, but then they could also say no because you don't have a medical need for a section and it is after all an op.
If I was you I would contact every medical professional I've ever had dealings with on Monday and keep asking the questions til someone helps. That's for you and LO.
Sorry couldn't be more help, hope it gets sorted for you x x x

  • sorry to hear your worrying twinkle about so many different things, as hayley said, keep asking everyone you have had dealings with and get in touch with consulants. hopefully they may be able to help you.

well we went out for an indian last night with a bunch of friends whilst mum had they boys for us. my bump knocked over a beer bottle when i stood up to go to the toilet lol (hubbys beer though so not too bad)
everyone was joking how it was gonna start me off and ive just woke with cramp in my leg moaning and hubby nearly had a heart attack he thought id gone into labour lol i was writhing in pain but couldnt stop laughing to tell him it was just cramp. oops.

have made him a cup of tea in bed to make up for it. so much for a lay in, i didnt even get to bed till about half one and now im wide awake.

not too bad though i only have 2 weeks and 4 days till due date and thats my first bit of cramp, with my youngest i had it constantly from about 4 months

bought some nursing bras off ebay yesterday for £9.00 for a pack of two, they are the mothercare ones i tried on whilst i was out and instore they were £32 for the 2 so happy with my savings there. just need to find a cheaper button up nightie or two now.

    hope everyones feeling ok. x
now proud mum to 3 handsome boys :j latest one born 10/10/11:j
  • Morning everyone. Again I've been reading but not had much to say really.

Twinkle Sounds stressful for you. You need some reassurance. As HAyley said try and ring and get some answers. Sure you will get it sorted.

Mirror did you know that according to alarge scientific study eating spicy food actually results in a more painful labour. Everyone tells you to eat curry but this study said that they studied woman from around the world and in countries where spicy food was a staple part of their diet they had more painful labours. Now I'd love to know how they measured it (was it on a scream-o-meter?) Not sure I am convinced but it made interesting reading. I'll try and find it.

I will be spending today clearing out furniture and things to sort the nursery. Not looking forward to it but needs must. Best got on with cleaning the rest of the house.

Does anyone else get hot feet, really really hot? I do and it is horrid.

Also has anyone bought or is buying an Amby natures nest? They look cool so I am thinking about it :)
