Sorry to hear so many of you are having a rubbishy day today (((hugs))) xxx
For once I seem to have lots of energy so have been "nesting"washed all the newborn - 3 months baby clothes so am going to sort through and see if there is anything we still need but am hoping that should be fairly minimal
Got a good bargain on a travel cot yesterday from babies r us. It's a hauck dream and play winnie the pooh travel cot reduced from £80 to £40my sister has the same one and uses it loads. We live about 60 miles away from all our family so will be making lots of overnight trips so it will come in handy. My sister also uses it as a playpen so baby has somewhere safe to play if she is cooking dinner, hoovering etc
I can definitely tell baby is now head down. Feeling a bit breathless and getting poked in some very odd places! lolMammy to 2 boys aged 5 and 20 -
Does anyone wanna come and slap my OH with me? I spoke to him earlier and said i would call him after i had finished decorating the house for DD's birthday tomorrow.
Lo and behold - called him, cant get hold of him. Idiots either fell asleep or left his phone somewhere.
All i can think of is "What if i had to go to bloody hospital you plonker!!!"
GGRRRR :mad:0 -
Lol, not just me then, yesterday I tried to phone about something trivial and he'd left it on silent after work. Left a message on Facebook in the end.0

Sorry to hear people aren't doing so well today. Although I'm now craving alphabites and garlic bread - thanks!
Had my first sweep today. It wasn't so bad as I was expecting. Had a growth scan too, this baby is maaaaaaaahooosive! Had to have an urgent re-referal to the consultant because midwife wasn't expecting it to have grown so much. Got another sweep booked for next week but I think they might end up pulling me in.
Consultant made me giggle though, when she did the sweep she said "well that felt good to me, how was it for you?" - slightly inappropriate?!Bump due 22nd September0 -
How come you had a sweep before your due date hayley? I thought they only did them at 40+ weeks. How heavy was baby? At my 32 week growth scan mine was estimated at 4lb 14oz!!!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

Probably just trying to set you at ease Hayley
We had a lovely MW here in antenatal who says she loves her job, except for being intimately familiar with so many women lol. That is not her favourite part of her job :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Because I'm measuring big and baby is scanning big for what they expect, I'm quite small and have been struggling with SPD and a displacing hip so I'm on crutches too.
Baby is measuring just over 9lb at 37+6.
They were keen to induce me, but I said I'd like to try and do it naturally so a) I don't have a hellish long induced labour if they do it before baby has their bags packed and b) I'd like to try and use the birthing pool. So they agreed to try 2 sweeps first.Bump due 22nd September0 -
I've been induced every time and haven't had a hellish labour (except for DD1 who was huge and they didn't know - her head was fine it was her shoulders that got her stuck!) so I wouldn't worry too much.
Once you get the drip things kick off quite quickly if that helpsMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

:rotfl:OH has spent pretty much all day after every hospital appointment complaining about parking charges. He keeps saying he dreads to think how much its going to cost him and I better not be in labour for too long :rotfl:
I hate paying parking at the best of times, each time we go to the hospital we must spend about a fiver on parking as we are there for hours  Our hospital is in the city centre and is 90p per hour :eek:0 -

Cheaper to get the bus! At least you don't have to nip out and pay buses again if you're longer than expected :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
