You lot are making me feel like a right greedy heffer!! So far today I've had a peach, a bowl of rice krispies (breakkie No 1), a cooked brekkie made by OH with sausages, beans, waffles and mushrooms (brekkie No 2), a McDonald's choc milkshake and 2 slices of pizza (lunch), and scampi and waffles (dinner) along with numerous glasses of milk, some grapes and 2 weight watchers chocolate puddings!!

Can I ask a question about baby blankets? Why are a lot of people keen on cellular blankets? I've been given lots of blankets but most of them seem to be the fleecey kind, and I'm wondering if I NEED to get some cellular ones for some reason or whether it is just a preference thing. I'd rather not pay out for more blankets if I don't need to.
  • evening all,

Labour vibes to the boldies - not long til i join you :)

Kara wish i could say something constructive but i am afraid i have no advice to offer but i am thinking of you and your mum.

PP have you got any contact with the nice MW from squeak? Maybe she would pop in and see you to check bump over?

WW dont worry, i went through phases of eating loads and loads and then phases of not eating much at all (although the latter were few and far between lol) We have cellular blankets because i prefer the way they look and becuase i think they are supposed to be cooling in summer and warm in winter and they have holes so if baby wriggles down there may be less danger - but i dont know if thats just me?

I've got nothing to report, had some period type pains again and bump seems very heavy and tight at the bottom but aside from that Elvis seems quite content and to be honest im starting to worry about the whole birth thing and how well/badly i will cope and would quite like to fast forward to their arrival so i can stop worrying about the bits inbetween.

    Puzzled

cellular ones are no better.. most of ours are fleece.. cellular ones ar considered to keep a layer of warm are trapped around baby. like a duvet.. but fleece washes and dries so much quicker!

Nah.. she was just a randommer on labour ward..

Morning ladies, well i've been awake since about 4am, with strong back pain every 20-30 mins. Does this sound like the start of things? I thought i would feel it more in my tummy, not my back, i will keep you all posted throughout the day no doubt as i'm sure this is probably just practice pains, baby is now 3 days OD, so wouldn't mind if it is the real thing:)

Ecoelle, if it is the real thing, then good luck! :)

DSD made me smile on Saturday evening. Was in a flurry, as the weekend ended up unexpectedly busy.... Dinnertime asked her to peel potatoes, as I was rushing around trying to put out washing, unload dishwasher, feed dogs, tidy up and get other things done. She tidied everything up afterwards, and brushed the floor for me telling me she didn't want me to make myself tired. Then she told me she'd been thinking, and baby meant she would be a big sister. Big sisters have a lot of resposibility, and she had decided she needed to help out more and do more stuff, as baby was already making me tired and wasn't even born yet.....

I could have hugged her- no-one prompted her into it.

Plus, my parents gave us a gift which was extremely nice of them and will make things easier for us!

I met someone else off freecycle, and got talking to her husband- before realising I know the couple and they're friends with very good friends of mine. The husband's a photographer and was showing me an extremely rare camera he said he was frustrated with, as he couldn't find a lens to test it with- by chance, I've a lens for it, but no camera! :) So we've arranged to meet up again and see what equipment we have....

I've more or less claimed the sofa- I can't seem to sleep properly on the bed anymore? Plus, later on at night it hurts climbing stairs. DH is being great- ankle, back and groin are all more or less constantly painful now, but at a reasonably manageable level.... He's fantastic at footrubs and massages..... :)
