    I'm in labour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Waters went at 1.30am and contractions started pretty much straight away but not unbearable pain. Went to hospital, got examined and sent home. Contractions are now every 6 minutes or so and lasting 30 seconds but again not unbearable. So.....I have to wait it out at home and if nothing much happens I will be induced tomorrow morning.

    Keep you posted....

    Yay!!!!!!

Well i've been up since about 2am when i woke with the funny period/diawoowoo pains again, i did ask the midwife and she said it sounds like the pains you get when the baby is trying to move down and get it's head into the right position, so i guess that's a good thing and means the baby is at least trying to move in the right direction. Slightly worried about the fact that the baby hasn't engaged any more, do we think this means the head might be big? And struggling to fit? Finally fell asleep on the sofa propped up on pillows with a hot water bottle at about 6am then got woken by hubby getting up for work at 7, so am now just relaxing watching tv and thinking about maybe putting the kettle on.

If i can hold out one more week the squid will be born in September, which would be good:)

I think that we are about ready now. Everything is packed and the mp3 is loaded and ready to go. I'm just waiting for the carpet man to come and measure up so we can get the quote done for the stairs and landing. Mum is also on her way round for coffee and cake, which she's bringing so am being spoilt today. Yesterday my girly friends took me out for the day and treated me to lunch and gave me a few gifts for the baby and for me. I have such supportive friends and family, i really am very lucky and happy that Squid will be born into such a loving family too. Getting all weepy now so off to man up!

ecoelle, your EDD is the day before mine so were both on the home stretch now :)
i did a shop online last night, booked it to come between 10 -12 this morning and they turned up at 8.30, after a very sleepless night i wasnt best happy, i had to rush downstairs, looking like death warmed up, i couldnt find the keys, then had to put all the frozen bits away before i sorted the kids breakfasts out, then put the rest away before i could have anything to eat myself, so i'm not in the best of moods already, i hate rushing!
i'm feeling very restless as well today, like i should be doing things but i'm just soooooo tired, i think the baby was having a rave last night, she never stopped moving for ages, i was laid on my left side and i could feel her moving from back to back to where she should be, my stomach was rock hard and i was getting kicks in the back, however, i couldnt stay on my left, i started to get pins and needles and had to turn over which meant she turned back to back again, grrrrrr, this morning all kicks are to my front so she's still the wrong way, hopefully with her moving about alot it may mean she will turn in time, i just know she's gonna be a little monkey :)
    Skint, but happy (ish):p

Twinkle you can refuse delivery until your agreed time I think. Anyway 8.30 is a long time before 10, not like it's just 15 minutes or so is it?

I've had drivers turn up early on the odd occasion, and they've always told me I can say no and have it at the agreed time. Because they've been nice about it (or have a reason why) I tend to accept. One used to live near me (though I didn't know him) and said the computer system had lumped me in between a load of deliveries 6 miles away and since he was already in the next road at this time he thought I might like it now rather than wait for him to do all the ones right in town and come back late.

Oh and one told me it was his little boy's 1st birthday and he wanted to get finished early and go home quick. He may well have been lying to me but I like to think he wasn't :rotfl:

    Woohoo claireloo - good luck.

Just back from MW, had a sweep which really wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. She had a good rummage round, managed to get 2 fingers in so im pleased. Thinks i'll be in labour pretty soon. Would love to know if a sweep has got things moving for anyone else. Hope im not just getting my hopes up.

Oh, hospital bag advice needed  still not finished it :rotfl:
Do i need a towel for baby? and Do i need to take a blanket for baby in hospital and then another one for bringing her home???

Hope everyone is having a pain free day

i had a dream last night that i won a comp that paid me £1k a month for a year... maybe i feel asleep watching tv again??

anyway when i work up i thought it was real and spent ages deciding what would be the most sensible thing to do with £12k... hence spend all morning entering comps i am hoping it was a preminision not a dream..
