Been looking into Pregnancy Yoga classes, as it's the only pregnancy friendly exercise thing I can find in my area. Has anyone done anything like this? Did you enjoy it?/find it worthwhile? It's not the cheapest and can only be bought in 8 week blocksThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Do you not have a swimming pool anywhere near you Gilly?
I was talking to my friend about labour the other day, she said the yoga-style breathing helped her loads when she was giving birth!:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -

I do but from looking they don't seem to have any pregnancy related things, I'd actually prefer the swimming pool stuff to yoga.
I'm actually nervous about going to these kind of things, I'm quite young and feel like everyone may be a good bit older and almost all the exercise things I've been to in the past I've went with someone, not on my ownAlso I'm not the teeniest person about so not sure how I'd cope with yoga

Could you not just go swimming? Just do a few lengths? It doesn't have to be a session for pregnant women only. My local pool has 'ladies only' sessions, I go to those. Plus there are women of all shapes and sizes so I don't feel self conscious...:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -

I could, although we don't have a car at the moment, hopefully have one soon and thinking about the winter coming (it's already getting colder here) and leaving the leisure centre to walk home after swimming isn't a great thought. May look into it though
Infact after looking at the price for swimming  the yoga isn't much more expensive per session and it lasts an hour and a half, and is only round the corner. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Haha yeah, the walk home after swimming isn't too pleasant! Our pool is only a ten minute walk away, and I always want to go in the car! :rotfl:
I'd give the yoga a go, if it's not too different price-wise. I bet you'd be surprised at the range of women there (plus, if it's specifically for pregnant women, then everyone's in the same boat!), and like I said, the breathing techniques you'll learn may come in handy further down the line!:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Swimming is £5.10 a session. Yoga is £6.25 a session. Only difference is the yoga has to be paid upfront. Will phone the yoga lady tomorrow and see what the deal is.
Our nearest pool is 1.6 miles away according to Google Maps. The breathing coming in handy may be a good thingThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
These are obviously all estimated, but slightly worrying that 3542g is about 7lb 8oz so the baby was already that at 37 weeks...oh my, what if i go over to induction date, it could be a monster!
Anyone know how accurate the estimated weights are?
Not at all accurate, my hospital don't even use it as a measure and have only told me when I've asked, both times I was told the margin of error is 1lb 2oz either way! Funnily enough my baby is estimated as 7lb 8oz at 37 weeks too but I am being induced a week on Monday so will let you know how accurate it was :rotfl:Been looking into Pregnancy Yoga classes, as it's the only pregnancy friendly exercise thing I can find in my area. Yes, I have done it and loved it! At mine they do a pregnancy related talk at the end of each session and ladies who have been before come in with their newborns and talk about their labours, every single one of them has said how helpful they found the breathing exercises particularly. All ages, shapes and sizes go, I'm a larger lady and have had no problems with any of it, if anything I didn't find it strenuous enough (did pilates before pregnancy) but that's not really the point of it. Mine is on a summer break at the moment and I'm really quite missing going. Nice way to meet local Mums to be too!0
