I've discovered that since no-one reads my notes, it seems to be up to me to pass on everything? Haematologist and Haemophiliac doc worried about my blood, consultant seems disinterested, midwifes standard response to anything is to tell me to contact the doc..... They're all nice enough, but no-one seems overly interested?
I've prepared for next time, have a list of questions I want answered! Want to know if I'm having a planned labour- and what that entails exactly....

Lirin I know the feeling and I don't even have any problems, it's like the left hand doesn't know what the right ones doing!

I've made an appointment with the doctor in 3 weeks time, not even sure if I'm supposed to or what? But if I don't it'l mean I'd have went 9 weeks almost without seeing anyone, bit confused here.
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.
  • When I saw the consultant at 18 weeks all she wanted to talk to me about was a clinical trial they wanted me to do that I wasn't even eligible for! Seeing her again at 36 weeks for some unknown reason. Expect I'll be begging for induction at that point if the pains are still this severe.

Am feeling very down today. KH and his wife brought their baby home from hospital today and I can't work out if I'm just plain jealous they have her and I'm still pregnant, or if its hormones, or if its something else. Feels very weird that DS's dad has a baby with someone else. Struggling to get my head around it tbh. Very weird.

Lirin.. get used to it NOONE EVER reads the notes.. not ever... Not even the cover.. on mine in huge red letter it says LATEX ALLERGY.. and I have to tell them EVERY time they are all illiterate!

If you assume everyone is an idiot you will not be disappointed!

pp, that's a good view to take, you're right.....

Mine have been in a nice plastic bag from day one, and hasn't really had much done barring filling my name in on the cover!

im starting to get scared now reading that people are having incompentent caregivers for lack of a better word.

my midwife has told me due to my weight and back issue I will have daily injections to prevent dvt, saw her at 6 weeks, didnt get the injections started till 14 weeks, and has also told me that i will be getting 2 extra scans (which im already booked in for) and that i will need to see the consultant and anetheseologist for a plan due to my weight but starting to panic about this as im 22 weeks and not seeing the consultnat till the 10th october - no idea what she wants to discuss with me as all i was told at the initial apt with her was try not to gain lots of weight and have no idea when i am going to get to see the epidulral dude (easier to spell that one)

on the positive side of things im 22 weeks and havent gained any weight, in fact ive lost 3 kilos, but like Gillyx it doesnt look like it, im still in my pre-pregnancy clothes but wont be remaining in my jeans for very much longer. im very glad about this as would struggle to get maternity clothes in my size so am just going with the buying a size bigger and buying stretch trousers plan as my vest tops and cardigans will do me through the rest of the pregnancy.

I actually meant the hospital notes.. the handheld notes are less use than toilet paper!

Hey, sounds like i'm having very similar conversations at the hospital as you. If you want to chat about it, then feel free to Pm me. I've seen the anaesthetist already for the epidural etc conversation.

  • ive got the midwife in the next few weeks for a check up so will be asking her all about why i need to see the consultant and when im seeing the epidural dude. i know its to do with having a plan in place in case i need one due to weight so they dont have to faff about if i do need an emergency c-section, but i really thought with being under consultant care i would see more of them or have more of an understanding as to what they do and why they need to see me. Its not crossed my mind to question any of this till ive read back through the last few posts and im a girl that HAS to plan everything as I like knowing whats going on.

I suppose id best get my finger out and book some antenatal classes now but dont want to go on my own. bloomin OH getting me into this mess and then going away till just before baby is due, i swear my eternity ring had better be lovely :rotfl:

I am supposed to be seeing an anaesthetist but I'm 36 weeks and have heard nothing about it at all! I assume they have forgotten, will mention it at my 37 week scan on Monday but it seems a bit late for them to do anything!

Both Simply Be and Bon Prix do up to a size 32 in maternity, don't know if that's any help to you seafarers_wife
