Someone I know got there's last week so now I'm starting to panic that the postie has stolen it  How long would be reasonable for a hormonal pregnant woman to wait before accusing him?
I've had a lazy morning f@rting about on the laptop because I can't be bothered. Back is still troubling me and affecting my sleep. I can't turn over and I can't get out of bed myself so OH has to assist me, which is impacting on his sleep, but he is taking it in good humour.
So far today I've started a list of Christmas present ideas for people, a list of books I want, a list of all the baby equipment we have and what we need, and a hospital bag list. I might start a birth plan aswell, just for the fun of it. Rock and roll eh? :rotfl:
If I post up my baby equipment list and hospital bag list can you point out if I've missed anything glaringly obvious please?

Sandy.. mine didnt start wearing 0-3 until they were about 3 months old.. They were just massive on them.. Squeak wore 0-3 at maybe 6/8 weeks she was just short of 7lb and very long.. so for mine 0-3 was too big to wear as a newborn.
Delain.. I am an oaf too.. I picked something up 3 times yesterday and tried putting it on the worktop and missed.. in the end I had a strop and it is still on the kitchen floor! thankfully most of the stuff I pick up is plastic or heals in time (ie Squeak lol) I keep walking into things and have bruises everywhere.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I've bought one pack of sleepsuits and one of vests in newborn sizes but everything else I've bought I've gone for 0-3 months. It's really hard to tell because you can't guess how big bubs is going to be! I only got the newborn bits at the weekend after the midwife said she thinks this little one will be making an early appearance, probably wouldn't have otherwise as if I go to term we're expecting this one to be a biggun
Mimi - I'm so sorry OH is being such a prat, look after yourself x I know you probs don't care about weight ATM but I weighed in at the weekend and as of now (32 weeks) I've put on 2 and a half stone...0 -
I might buy a set of newborns then just in case. Thanks ladies.
I hope everyone is well and not suffering too much with cankles, backache, tiredness, constipation, inability to maintain a level body temp etc etc! What joy!0 -
Hmmm just looked around the flat and realised the place looks like a hurricane has hit! Grrrr!!! So much for DH helping around the house. He is fine with cooking the dinner, but never seems to wash up after. He also has not done a load of washing in approx 7 years. The last clear time I can remember is when my waters broke while having my DD, he washed my clothes when I was in hospital. He just doesn't seem interested this time around...
He still has a bad back at the moment (like I don't?? lol), but really need him to get off his fat arris. My bed needs moved to make room for the cotand I can't do that on my own. It killing me because I want everything prepared!0 -

I would buy at least one set of newborns, as they go up to around 9lb. So unless you are sure u having a bigger baby, it's best to be prepared. My baby is estimated at around 7lb, but am lucky !!! I have been given tiny baby clothes too! DD was 6lb 11oz and midwife says lil man will be around same,asI am not made for big babies. PHEW! (No elephants out of a fly! pmsl)
PS Am suffering all of the above except the cankles at the mo (that was last week! lol)0 -

I figured at least if I have one set, that'll be enough to get us home from hospital and then DH can be sent to Tesco to buy more if we need them. I've also left some money with my mum just in case bubs is very early so she can get some preemie clothes, wash them and bring them up to the hospital. I just like to have something in place for all eventualities0 -
Oh well, spose I best get off MY fat arris and get some of this HW done, seeing as nobody else will... lol0

Woohoo many congrats Caelshorn, Josephine is a beautiful name:A
We've still no names picked here, I really should get a move on with that but I am so laid back at the moment I doubt it will happen lol
No signs of labour being imminent here. I'm feeling pretty good and I think thats why I feel I'm not ready to pop just yet. I did eventually get out of bed yesterday and we headed up to the coast and had a lovely afternoon/evening out. The dog loved the beaches and I had some nice long walks which I think helped with baby's positioning as my bump seems a lot lower today. Really wish we could head out again later but doubt I could persuade OH as he's getting more and more nervous about the birth, bless him.
SVandy I have about 10 each of sleepsuits and vests in size newborn plus a few rompers. I then have the same again roughly in size 0-3 months. I figured that would be enough to get us started. Tbh I tend to judge it by looking as some newborn stuff looks huge in comparison to other newborn stuff iyswim
delain I've been noticably more clumsy during pregnancy so I hope its the same with you, and nothing more serious:(:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
OH has bought some gorgeous newborn things for this baby... I am pretty sure he was hoping for a boy but I know he likes white/cream for newborns and he's a bit of a sucker for Disney too so he went to Tesco the other day to take my friend shopping and came home with new PJ's for me (fab ones - I was really pleased), undies for hospital bag, clothes for Squeak, plus a lovely white coat in 0-3 months, and a white 4 piece set with Thumper on.
He did get carried away but I think he's a bit excited really. Now he's booked in to get seen to he knows this will be the last one, so maybe that's why, although he was very very good when I had Squeak too, partly I think because he knows I had a rough time with KH and his shocking behavior previously and he knows it upset me.
Neas Squeak has been in her cotbed since she was 4 days old, and is fine as far as I can tell. The 2+months thing is probably a marketing strategy to sell more cribs/moses baskets
Thanks, Claire
ETA Only my twins were in newborn past 6 weeks, DD1 (10lb) filled 0-3 at birth!:eek:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
