hi all i hope apricots absence means somethings happening for her.
iv been busy today again went to shops this morning then came home and put last lot of baby things in wash. little vests are now drying and look so cute i keep looking and filling up lol must be hormones. then iv put 2 lots of undercoat on windowsill and door so can put some gloss on tonight.
i was told to wait till 35 wks for RLT aswell but havent tried it yet you lot have got me motivated so im going to go and make some now.
iv got white stuff for hospital and coloured to bring fidget home and coloured for home the scan was only 60% sure of the sex but we had to have CVS done so the up side was when they do chromosone check they can tell xx or xy so should be correct although i still keep thinking they could be wrong lol. i was 100% sure DS was a boy even though they didnt tell you then as scans werent as acurate and i only had a boys name. i was 100% sure of sex this time aswell so was shocked when they told me as i was wrong.

Not to worry you more but I was told DD1 was a boy at 20, 24 and 34 weeks.... She is definitely a girl!
Noooo don't say that!! While having a girl after 2 boys would be fantastic and I've kind of had a thought it might be a girl from early on, I've set myself up that it's a boy now if that makes sense?!
Mancbird I hope you feel lots better soon - sickness isn't nice at all.
Abby - hope that sweep will get things moving for you soon!
RLT did nothing for me with DS2 - he was still 12 days late and ended up with an emergency c-section. But they can't harm so would definitely take them girlsThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
OOO got crossed posts good luck abby hope this is the start for you:coffee:i find a cup of tea can solve most problems:coffee:

Well, it was untill she managed to prod his head. Apparently I am 2cm dilated, is that good? Anyway I am home now feel very shaky (and have decided I had low blood sugar so ate a box of donuts...) and my lower back is achy
Someone sooth me and tell me I'm going to pop soon. Don't lie though...
Oooh yay good luck
Even if it doesn't start labour, sweeps can make you uncomfy afterwards. Have some paracetamol for the pain, get moving about if you can (even to the shop to get more donuts - you'll never have such a good excuse again) and do not have a bath. Lots of stories from the ladies last year of having early labour signs that stop when they get in the bath!

ETA, got it!0 -
They are usually on the tesco direct homepage, in big letters  although I haven't looked as I have Squeaks monitor, which at 16 months she won't need for the movement sensor and sound wise they'll both be in the same room anyway :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

Interesting thoughts on the RLT, i hadn't had any discomfort at all until i started drinking it, and i wasn't expecting it to actually do anything so i don't think it's placebo. I love the taste of the tea, i bought one from Holland and Barratt but it's not their own make, it's by Heath and Heather, it says it's raspberry leaves with apple pieces so maybe the apple helps the taste, it's the only one i've tried but i'm sticking with it. I'd definately recommend it!
My baby is head down and has been for a few weeks now, as of tomorrow only 5 weeks til due date and only 2 and a bit weeks til i break up from work...can't wait now!
Tried to pack my hospital bag earlier and failed miserably, don't know how many of things to take. Like breast pads, haven't had to use them at all yet and don't know how many to take, mat pads, briefs, how many nappies? Oh, it's all so complicated, noone said that i would flounder over such stupid decisions, i think i spent less time deciding on names than i have worrying about what to take into hospital! lol0 -

DOH!!! I saw a £10 off £100 spend code and just ignored it but you have to click that one to see the £5 off £50 too. Thanks! Can't believe how badly I'm being affected by baby brain, work are probably chomping at the bit for me to finish!0 -

Breastpads.. you won't need until milk comes in at about 3-5 days.. will you be home by then? Just chuck 4 or 6 in.. if you need more ask OH to bring them!
Nappies.. I put 2 in the labour bag and the rest of the pack in the big bag.. they take up so little space.
Pads.. I put in a pack of 10.. and leave the others visible at home.
knix.. I use disp ones.. so a pack of 5 is plenty.. and others left with pads at home.

There is a bag checklist on the main list if that helps.
If you are using washables, I'd suggest getting one of the small packs of disposables just for the hospital, you shouldn't need more than a small pack unless you end up with a c section, and if you are in longer and need more, OH (or your mum or anyone who's had a baby before if OH is not sure) can go and get some more from home/tesco/wherever.
I took a little pack in, was in just shy of 4 days post birth and had almost used them all when we got home.
Same goes for breast pads, you don't need to take hundreds, you can enlist the help of visitors for errands, I always shamelessly do this. It is the only time since I was about 9 that I've asked my mum to go out and buy me chocolate and she hasn't said no :rotfl:
Pants - don't buy the disposable ones, or at least I hated them. They are OK for delivery, I'm sure it was PP said they can just be ripped off lol but I wouldn't recommend them for the post natal ward when you can get cheap ones from QS which will be both cheaper and more comfyand can be washed and re used if they are not too mucky.
I'd sneak in some wet wipes although guidelines say not to... with mine the meconium has the colour and consistency of marmite  and it's a nightmare with cotton wool.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
