I know how you feel, I've not taken any meds whilst pregnant either & now i'm nearly there I really don't want to have to go back on my meds.

I'm dreading the first appointment with my GP because I know he's going to push the meds again :(

Hugs Skinty, hope OH is home soon x

Glad the GTT was negative Skint_Catt but grrr at your consultant! You're allowed to have a good old cry without being suicidal! I had slight pre-natal depression with DS2 but would never touch meds either. I think most of it is those dreaded hormones.

I got halfway round to school to pick up DS1 today when DS2 threw up all over himself and the pavement yuck!! He's had a bit of an upset tum for a couple of days so guess it's a bug. I really don't want it now - the last one I had at 13 weeks pregnant was absolutely horrific!

I think it's because I've had depression (and been medicated for it) in the past & she wanted me to get some help so I could cope better and possibly not end up with very bad PND (which I've always been worried about due to my history).

I can completely relate to that, I had a down week or two recently and I was utterly petrified that I'd become depressed again, I've always worried a lot that I would get PND. It seems to have passed now but I was too scared to talk to my midwife about it now as I really felt I would automatically get put on medication and end up being watched like a hawk or something once the baby came. It's sad we are made to feel that way really.

For what it's worth every doctor or midwife I have asked has said it is by no means a foregone conclusion that I will get PND despite battling depression on and off for the past 15 years! Take care of yourself x

    I'm due November 19th!

First baby! Today me and my husband heard our babys heartbeat for the first time! This baby is a real mover and kicker and kept kicking the machine and then hiding! not as bad at the 20 weeks scan were it would not stop moving for a picture of the heart.
We've got the gender scan tomorrow which I'm so excited about!

I'm feeling terrible most of the time during this pregnancy. I feel like a wimp, and everyone keeps telling me it'll get better. I'm on anti-depressants (sp? that looks wrong!) and suffering even more during pregnancy. I dont want to up my meds since I was told it can cause harm so I've been referred to what i fear most, therapy. But anything to help, especially now. I'm also suffering from hip and leg pain that i've had for years and was just about to get sorted until i found out i was pregnant. Now i'm using a walking stick!(can you believe i'm only 23?)

I'm also flying off on a 15hour flight to LA when I'm 28weeks. Virgin airlines said its okay aslong as i doctors note. But I'm scared. Anyone been on a flight like that in late pregnancy? I kind of want to go, but with the depression and hip injury it worries me. So far the doctors and midwifes are seeing how things go until its close to the day.

    Congratulations to everyone!

Pack babies first outfit - vest, babygro, hat, mits, cardigan, nappy in a plastic bag and have it in your labour bag then it's easy for the midwife/ partner to find quickly. Make sure you pack wash stuff for you in labour bag too and a clean nightie/ dressing gown for after the birth.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I've recently been looking at what to pack in my hospital bag, and I'm starting to think a hospital suitcase might be more appropriate! I never was any good at packing light!!
