Yes - you can do them now & 'schedule' them to start whenever you want - but it does cost 6p for each Listing, which still applies even for a Free Listing Weekend.

I'm sure I once read on here (but can't find it now, unfortunately), that if you are going to be around at the time you actually want it to start - say Saturday 6.00pm - you can 'Schedule' it for a time well in the future (say a week or 2) & then go back in on Saturday to 'Edit' it & upload it there & then - this cancels out the 'Scheduling' charge.
I haven't tried it - but it makes total sense. May try it for this w/end. If it works & I did read it on here - many thanks to the OP.

    HTH.
I did quite a few last free-listing days. I'm finding household/garden/office things going quite well, but clothes, accessories & cosmetics/toiletries, very slow - is anyone else finding the same?

Definitely re clothes and accessories - am shocked by how badly they have done on the last few free listings weekends.

One thing that's good about free listings weekends is that if you're selling I think you're more likely to browse ebay. I definitely go through phases where I wont go on ebay for ages but with all the free listings recently Ive been spending time on there anyway selling so have been browsing (and buying) lots too!

For all those people wanting to list lots of items at a specific point I recommend eBay Turbo Lister. It's from eBay itself and lets you cop each item you create so say if you are selling two very similar items, you can just copy the item and change a few things. Rack them all up, then when time comes (about 9pm Sunday I find best) I just list the lot.

It's the Free and takes seconds to upload them all. http://pages.ebay.co.uk/turbo_lister/

I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Its a shame that they won't let you use it for the free listings though as it would save a lot of time. It used to be allowed but then they started calling it a professional tool.

It has always been a professional tool, as is Auctiva and the other paid for services. I think stopping it being used on free listing days was a small attempt to address the issues of some sellers uploading hundreds and hundreds of items . I also think it was a vain attempt to mollify the business sellers a bit .

  • i noticed last week when i went on to all selling, right at the bottom it told me how many items i had listd that month. It was helpful as i knew how many items out of the 100 limit i had that month (not that i would use that much). Anyway i went on there today and cannot find it? Anybody else seen this?

Yes, I do this too, luckly they have all sold at decent prices. I have only just starting using ebay again after a very very long time and didn't realise that to list at 99p was free. I kept holding out for the free weekend's and still listing them at 99p! lol

Be careful how many items you list in a short space of time.

I used a free listing weekend last year and went mental clearing everything out. As I had over 100 items during that weekend to sell, ebay classed me as a business and changed fees and got emails regarding income tax etc :(

I did email saying if they checked my listing they would see almost everything was used and comprised of toys, clothes, perfume etc, but didn't matter. I've not sold anything since as I don't want to pay tax and have HMRC breathing down my neck :(

Just something to bear in mind ;)

:eek::eek::eek: Really? OMG! Thanks for the tip-off. The most I have ever listed was about 50 in one weekend - never again, it was knackering. Photographing, listing, packing them up, going to the PO, messaging every buyer to say that I had sent their item (I always do this, I think it's nice to get a message from the seller thanking you for your purchase)... I needed a lie down afterwards! :rotfl:

I've sold a fair amount the last few weeks, and the cut they take does add up, think i owe Ebay £20 now :-(

But since I cba to do a boot sale any money is better then nothing...cluttering up my house or giving to charity shop, so just have to grin and bear it :P:A

Funnily, I think that a boot sale would be LESS hassle than eBay... just need to persuade OH to get up at 6am on a Sunday and drive me to one! :D

No, a sale is a sale so you have to accept the final price.

Obviously having said that no one can actually force you to sell, but buyers have got a bit fed up of sellers who either refuse to sell at 99p or pretend the item was lost or broken, and those sellers tend to get very poor feedback and get banned anyway.

There are always several threads on the ebay boards on the lines of 'I won something for 99p and the seller won't send it'.

This has happened to me a few times. Now, if I've won something for quite a low price or it's something I REALLY want, I offer to pay the extra 77p for recorded delivery.

As a seller, I once discovered a stain on a dress I had sold that I hadn't noticed when listing it. I contacted the buyer, issued a refund, apologised profusely and sent her a few makeup samples for free as an apology. I felt awful. :(

I thought the 100 limit is for listing the auction free at 99p, then if you go over 100 you have to pay to list at 99p?
