Wii on sale at The Link
Hint #1: if you use the promotional code wii when ordering then you get £15 off a bundle. (£204.99 comes down to £189.99, delivery included)
Hint #2: if you go through Quidco you save about another £7 (eventually), making your whole purchase £183, ie your bundled extra game costs £3 above the £180 cost of the Wii.
Hope This Helps.0 -
Also available at Amazon for £1790

My other half has informed my that he would really like a Nintendo Wii for his birthday. Now I am a complete novice at computers of the video game variety so would appreciate help about what to buy. Will probably need a couple of games and any controllers he might need as I gather there are different types. Can buy from internet or high street so if anyone can point me in the right direction of what I need it will be very much appreciated.'The supreme irony of life is that hardly anyone gets out of it alive'0

..... there is a specific find/best buy for a Wii thread here in I WANNA BUY IT / DO IT.
One definite (I bought one from there last week) is The Link, who do the full kit and caboodle (console, Wiimote, Nunchuk, Wii SPorts) with an extra game for about £200-£210 depending on the extra game. Delivery is included in the price.0 -
Yeah thanks had seen it but was a bit to technical for me. Dont know what I actually need - obviously the console, controllers and some games but I don't kmow if I need memory or other extras like chargers!!'The supreme irony of life is that hardly anyone gets out of it alive'0

.. certainly not a charger for the main unit as it is not geared up to be portable, there are no removeable batteries to run the wii. Everything you need is in the basic box. The batteries in the Wiimote last a decent amount of time, but it's cost effective to get a charger and some AA rechargeable batteries (each wiimote takes two batteries)
As regards memory, it does take memory cards, but these are used primarily (to start with) for transporting pictures to the wii and playing with the paintshop process. Everything such as Wii SPorts games or Miis (characters) are saved in the internal memory of the Wii and also in the Wiimote. I dare say some other games will save to a memory card but as it takes SD cards and these are around at about a fiver a go, it's no great problem.0
