Will it be one that Martin has found.

Or something that has been posted on his forum?
  • So its justified then? dog eat dog , they rip you off so you rip them off , what happened to 2 wrongs not making a right???

Greed is greed EITHER was round

What about those who are REALLY STRUGGLING in this country who don't have the time etc to go on the grabbits and look for the latest DTD or be able to go to Tesco's multiple times a day on a bargain frenzy hunt?

Maybe they could really DO with some free food to feed their familes with and they DON'T HAVE STASHES OF IT PILED HIGH IN THEIR GARAGES!!!

Living hand to mouth more like and maybe they don't WANT to do all the palava involved with exploiting glitches and loopholes , maybe they just want to live / survive / feed their families - THOSE are the people I feel for , the people in REAL NEED

You've got to be in it to win it - and it's every man, woman & child for themselves :D

Early cancellation of DTD was entirely foreseeable because it was clearly a crackpot promotion.

So getting in multiple shops a day for as long as possible became the savvy money saver's prime objective :rotfl:

You don't really get mkbswimstar's point though... If Tesco or any other large company make a loss on something (exploitation of promotions or even just straight up stealing) they don't take that out of their profits... They put the costs on other goods up. They have margins to meet and growth to maintain. So you end up paying for it in the end anyway. And so does everybody else. This is why insurance prices creep up. The more people steal, the more they charge - otherwise it wouldn't be a profitable industry. They're not charities!

And as for this 'it's not illegal' attitude - how ridiculous! What about morals?! If doing something heinous was legal - would you do it?

And whoever said that things were cheaper abroad - are you joking?!! Take France for example - no open competition, legal price fixing, no rights to return/exchange products except in the most narrow of situations, poor customer service. Yes, food may be cheaper in some areas (because they subsidise farming through higher charges on other goods, high income taxes, and EU subsidies too) but things like household goods are absurdly expensive. And don't get me started on Northern Europe. Honestly, people in the UK sometimes overlook what large companies actually do for them.

I take your point, on many levels. However, it does beg the question: why are you here if you feel thus?

    Thanks Issyc ... And I'm a she :D

I was going to say exactly the same and I am on a low income due to being unemployed , my daughter is a single Mum with an autistic son who is still in nappies at 4 years old which costs her a fortune as the junior size is so expensive

( So am often looking for nappies / wipes deals!! )

So any legit bargains I find I 1/ share them 2 / use them and 3/ try not to take the p*ss!

If I can register for a free gift and its one per household I often try and get one sent to my daughter or take her any food bargains I find

I also look for cheap toys deals so I can treat my GS to some stimulating toys as a special needs child needs unique stimulation

I share deals on Facebook and try and make the world a BETTER place , not a WORSE one! ;) lol

Before i start just want to say i agree will 99.9 of your posts and this is not aimed at you ;)

The people in this country who are struggling and the people who dont know about DTD ect make up 99.9 and more of tescos shoppers and tesco know that

I admit the DTD offer with asda was big but do you think that put a dent in tesco profits? i dont i think it was pulled because it hit the news and tesco did not like it.

It may look like tesco get hit from deals on this forum but my guess is they dont and they make there money from the non savy shoppers where they stick a few pence on some other products to pay for the deals so you could say its tesco ripping struggling shoppers.

My point here is tesco do a deal say half price condoms they advertise it in the news people say wow what a deal then go shop at tesco but pay higher prices for other shopping that covers the price of the condoms for MR T so winner is MR T
If you dont like me remember its mind over matter, I dont mind and you dont matter ;)

Most of the time it's the manufacturer that is taking the hit with the price reductions/b.o.g.o.f/% extra.

Some companies even pay to have their product on show in hot spots in supermarkets.

Supermarkets know where to put their products/offers/introduce smells to get you to part with your ££££.

NOT ME THOUGH !!!! I stick to my list 98% of the time and am not brand loyal in most cases : you show me a good deal and I'll show you my money!!!

Thats what I was thinking ged1980... Most of the people struggling don't even KNOW about DTD or even what ''DTD'' means! lol

And not everyone knows about the MSE forums ( though I'm always telling everyone I know! lol )

I actually run a group who like to go out socilaising in London / get out of the house but we do things on the CHEAP...

We grab the kgbdeals / groupon deals for cheap meals or the free half price dining cards etc etc and I often send out a mass e-mail to the group members with the latest top deals on it for them to enjoy!!

I'm HAPPY if those who are struggling get to know about the 1p Tesco deals or really cheap shampoo etc ... Its basic greed and excess I have a problem with .. You can't take it with you , you know and anyone would think we'll have to barricade ourselves in our houses and are stocking up for a war or famine or something! lol!!

( and I don't mean ''stocking up'' I mean the RIDICULOUS amounts of things some people buy and don't need..... piled sky high!!! )
