Teenage Daughter has really dry/red skin around her eyes!

I don't have anything more to offer on the redness that hasn't already been said, but you might consider recommending your daughter has a proper make up test session before she purchases anything else.
I use the mineral powder make-up due to having sensitive skin - no creams to block the pores or chemical slatherings and never gives me spots or irritation... I routinely get mistaken for someone ten years younger because it looks very fresh and natural - only when I have make up on though. Without it I frighten small children.
I hope your daughter is doing wellSome days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, i cant believe so many people suffer with similar things, i've obviously been very lucky in all my years, never to have suffered from bad skin, the odd spot has been the worse of it for me !!!!
Anyway, back to DD, this morning she woke and up all was good, so Liz Earle does appear to be working, as someone has already suggested her skin may just need to settle down again with a new product. She's raving about the products so must be doing something. Lets just hope she has more good days than bad!
Off on hols soon (well as soon as they break up from school) so lets just hope the swimming pool doesnt affect her badly!0 -
Just a suggestion, but if you are going in the sun, may be worth investing in Liz Earle's sun range.
Glad to hear dd's skin is improving.0 -
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Dream Cream by Lush. It's a body moisturiser but it's gentle enough to use on the face and around the eyes. Lots of reports of it curing excema.0

OP, I have eczema and sensitive skin and I wouldn't touch anything other than Liz Earle. C&P (wash muslin cloth after 2 or 3 uses), the moisturiser, and in particular the eyebright. Also try the eyecream. You should perhaps also look at what haircare she is using - again, Liz Earle has a completely natural option (although I don't personally like it) - consider Aveda (but it is very expensive). You can get Liz Earle kits slightly cheaper on qvc, or on ebay (direct from the Liz Earle outlet - the packaging is "seconds", but the product is absolutely fine). I know it's expensive but a little goes a long way. One pump dispenser (far better than the squeezy tube) of C&P lasts me about 3 months.0

OP, if you have freeview or sky Liz Earle has her items on qvc today, a great saving on the special value if you have a look.0

This Liz Earle range sounds good. :T
Personally, I've just been trying Tender Care protecting balm from !!!!!!!! around my eyes - after someone recommended it and so far it seems to be working well :j:j They're looking much, much better today
It's like a lighter version of vaseline and comes in a tiny pot.....but should last ages as I dont need to apply much.
Will have to give feedback once I've used it for longer, but in the meantime I hope your daughter continues to get on with Liz EarleXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -
Day 2 of completely clear skin ....... but it was so bad on saturday ..... she had a sleepover at a friends house, and put fucidin (anti biotic cream, which we buy abroad, perfect for spots) where it was really red and woke up next day and her skin was perfectly clear....... so beginning to wonder if i should take her back to GP .... again, been so many times!
Or it could just be, the Liz Earle products have settled down and are working well, only time will tell.
Thanks to everybody who are suggesting remedies, we will get there in the end0 -

OK, my suggestion is going to sound a little odd!
I have always had great skin, never had any problems, if anything it is a tiny bit greasy sometimes. Late last year I started to develop dry, red patches on my face and hands. Been through every imaginable theory and tests at Doctors (allergies/scabies/eczema the list has been endless!) but nothing I have been prescribed has worked, and it kept getting worse.
I read a thread on here ages ago about coconut oil/cream and in a moment of desperation with my eyes, a few weeks ago, I spread a tiny amount of Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Creme in a thin layer on my eyelids and the sides of my mouth. (It was the only coconut product I had!) It didn't just reduce the dryness, it also took away the redness and my skin was completely healed overnight. I tried the same thing on the rest of my 'patches' the next day and exactly the same thing...completely healed! It's only about £12 a tube and when I say I used a tiny amount, I mean barely anything so can see this lasting ages.
I appreciate you don't want to keep trying different things but thought I'd let you know as I think I have tried every other product mentioned, included the prescribed 'solutions'. This worked for me!0
