job offering £12k- any back to work help? (tax credits etc?

currently on JSA, and seen a job i really like, though pay is much less than i could afford to live on, as it is.. anyone know when tax credit / income support add-ons takes affect? (min/ max levels), and how much thats likely to be? single male, no kids, in council flat..

Everyone will retire one day - its a certainty!! And they will need an income when they cease work. No one should now rely on the state to provide it anymore.
