I am due to have a vulvoscopy next week. Anyone had one of these before? I can't find anything on the NHS website, but assume it's similar to a colposcopy.:hello:0

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but i am going through something similar at the mo ,Gyne found something they don't like (lumpy bleeding cervix) so am going in, in the next couple of weeks for a scan ,hysteroscopy ,biopsy and cauterisation of the dodgy bits and possibly a coil fitted at the same time .Is it usual to have the whole lot done in one go ?,( that old advert with all the workmen and different utilities all using same hole dug in the road keep springing to mind :rotfl: )they haven't even said what they think is wrong yet ??
Im worried because after the internal exam ,the Gyne kept asking if I was sure my last smear was clear and that I had the results in writing .She then said there was a possibility that the smear 'missed' my cervix as its very hard to get to:(
Hope everyone above is now fit and well and everything went fine
Edited to add ,I found this thread on Google whilst searching for info on what to expect ,actually a relief to 'get it out ' as I have not told any of my family ,just hubby .0 -
i had a biopsy and cauterisation done a few years ago as i had failed smears due to the weird position of my cervix, basically they couldnt get to it. i was also having intermittent bleeding and my cervix had prolapsed hence the cauterisation
since then i have had an endometrial ablation as my periods had got so heavy they couldnt put a coil in due to the position of my cervix. (i have a very difficultly placed one apparently - lucky me!!)
i assume they are doing it all in one go to cause u least disruption try not to worry (i know thats easier said than done)
if u have more questions do ask, hope it all goes wellWhen you know better you do better0
