I had this, but they offered me the choice of whether to do anything about it, so I said no, mainly cos I wanted to think about it first!

Anyone else had just a biopsy done? How long did you find it took for the bleeding to stop?

I think its the same thing i had done but mine was after i had an abnormal smear and i had to go and have it lasered , In and out within 15-20 mins, bled a bit afterwards but not loads... i think it was colocoscopy that i had though , (might of spelt that wrong), and like the poster above said take your own pad as theres are massive! Good luck xx

I have cell erosion and had it cauterised a few years ago. It was done under general as I was having other treatment at the same time. (A D&C after a miscarriage.)

I found that it did help with the pain (my cervix is painful to the touch) and I was physically okay after the op.

Except a little while later during my next period when I was doubled over in pain at the dinner table (Christmas dinner unfortunately.) I passed some tissue that looked burnt. Felt much better after that but whether it was to do with the treatment to my cervix or my D&C I don't know.

I have had other treatment on my cervix which meant that during this pregnancy I had internal scans every 2 weeks for a few months to make sure it wasn't opening too early. But that particular treatment wasn't associated with any risk and was not taken into account as far as I know. (And it stayed closed I'm glad to say and the baby is due very soon.)

Just seen this part. If you mean what I think you mean, I've had 'lady surgery' several times and I've generally been told 6 weeks. :rotfl: But if you're in the mood there are ways round it... :o:D

i've had 2 cervical biopsies... with the last one it did take a few days for all the spotting to stop. It wasnt lots of blood or anything tho.

It's been nearly two weeks now, but I popped to see the nurse yesterday, and she said to give it another week before I worry.

No, I don't think so, they sealed it with the heat thing that looked like a giant soldering iron :D
