ha ha ha... you gotta love the smell of singed flesh!

Was this just for the biopsy or did you actually have a cell removal procedure?

Just the biopsy. They offered me the choice of having the erosion treated, but I said I'd wait and see what happened first, hopefully it wont cause enough trouble for me to want it done.

I don't remember a singed smell, either cos I have a stinking cold, or cos they only did a small bit where the biopsy was. Though it didn't feel small at the time. :D

no it certainly doesnt feel small at all!!

How long till you get the results of the biopsy? Do you already know you have cervical erosion or did you have an abnormal smear so they are trying to get to the cause?

Fingers crossed for you hun & if the nurse has said that the bleeding can go on for 2 weeks its obviously not that unusual.

The leaflet says within three weeks, and it's two weeks today, so soon I hope. I actually had a clear smear, so I'm cautiously optimistic that it'll be ok.

Believe it or not, I only went to the docs for some thrush cream, and the next thing I know he's referring me to the hospital! He decided my cervix looked inflamed, so tested for nasty bugs and found none, so referred me before I'd even had the smear. The doc at the hospital said it was erosion, I assume they do the biopsy either to see what caused it, or just to double check there's nothing nasty lurking.

I love the way he said, while waving the soldering iron 'oh it wont hurt, you'll just feel a cramp'. Now to me, that's hurting! :D

:rotfl: yes ... and from a man too! How on earth would he know what it feels like to be soldered internally!!

Clear smear sounds like a good sign of nothing too worrying occurring. Fingers crossed for you that the biopsy is all clear too.

And good luck with your hysteroscopy Carol... I really hope that there's nothing too serious or anything... Dr's always seem to err on the side of caution when checking these things out. Ladies bits are quite complicated it would seem.

I know, they probably don't even realise what a cramp feels like! :D Though I must admit he did ask me a couple of times if it was ok while he was doing it.

Thanks, as I say, I'm cautiously optimistic, but you never know till it arrives. Just remembered, they've had new year since I went, so it may be a little longer if people were off.

Just remembered I have a handy leaflet! Doesn't answer a lot of my questions, but I think it answers one of yours. :D

It says if you have treatment done, you'll get a discharge for two to four weeks, and no naughtiness until it's gone.

I just thought about it like a cut or something and if I had a cut anywhere else I wouldnt want to 'contaminate' or irritate it... it's just a bit harder coz you cant actually see it :o
