I buy from the local fishmonger in 7lb blast frozen boxes, normally costs £5.95 per pound for haddock (both white and smoked) when buying in single pounds, but buying it in the boxes I get the 7lb for £25, so working out at more than £2.5o cheaper. There are usually about 23-28 fillets in the box. with it being blast frozen you just have to take out the single slices you need.Every days a School day!0

I remember when every High Street has a fishmongers, but that isn't the case anymore. I moved from one seaside town (with a great fishmongers) a year ago to another seaside town further up the coast. Where I live now, despite being a seaside town, I have yet to discover a fishmongers in the High Street.Oldernotwiser wrote: »Doesn't anyone buy their fish from a fishmonger?0 -
We don't have a fishmongers although there are several fish stalls in the market - I don't buy from them though because there is always a really fishy smell around the stalls and I was told that fish isn't fresh if it smells fishy. I also find that the fish counter in Tescos stinks too. I sometimes buy M& S fish when on the 3 for £10 offer.Jane

I want to keep our local independent shops around, therefore our local fishmonger is the only place I buy fish from.Oldernotwiser wrote: »Doesn't anyone buy their fish from a fishmonger?
The cheapest filleted white fish that ours have at the moment is coley; can't remember how much it is, but think it's somewhere around £7.50 a kilogramme.0 -

We buy *all* of our fish from a fishmonger, meat from a butcher, and most of our fruit and veg from greengrocers and/or markets.
Why do you ask?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0
