Is there any tricks im missing with regards to getting fish - at the moment I get it from the frozen section in Aldi's but can't help but think there is a cheaper option somewhere - perhaps an online fish monger?

Most seem to charge £8 - £10 for delivery unless the order is £100 and over

Donald Russell supply meat and fish so perhaps you could combine an order, over £80 for free delivery

I buy Sainsbury's basics white fish in a big bag from the freezers - think its Pollock.0

I buy fresh pollock, haddock, tilapia and mackeral from Ocado, as part of our online shop.
The fish is always fresh and delish.
Ocado have 25% off certain meat and fish this week.
I don't know if Waitrose are running the same offer.
Felines are my favourite

M&S have fish in their '3 for £10' deal at the moment. Today I bought two packs of lemon sole fillets and one pack of seabass fillets which should have totalled £17.71. Huge saving. You have to get there in the morning, otherwise the shelves are empty.0

Depends on what you are doing with the fish.
I often buy a cheaper cut of fish and batter it and then fry - This can include fish like whitebait and sprats. As I make the batter myself I add flavours into the flour to add extra falvour etc, or fizzy water to get the batter lighter.
Also kipper even manx kippers are failry good value.
RIver cobler is probably the cheapest white flesh fish you can find.
Salmon - if you do not mind irregular shapes and brown meat in the value ranges, then salmon can be a decent price.0 -
Sainsbury's at 7pm is the place to buy fresh fish. You don't get any choice but there is always something half price.0

Doesn't anyone buy their fish from a fishmonger?0

pollock and river cobbler are both pretty vile IMHO... if I wanted a cheap variety of fish, I would go for mackerel, its fished off the UK and is full of omega 3.
Morrisons fish counter often has good reductions towards the end of the day, and most of it can be frozen for later use too.0 -
I buy pollock from Lidl - get on with it quite well but do tend to use it with sauces. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Depending on where you are, a run to the seaside might be a good idea. You can go to a local fishmonger, get the freshest possible, find many varieties that never appear in the supermarkets, usually pay less, and then freeze it.
