Unblocking the kitchen sink

Anyone have any ideas as how to block a kitchen sink ive tried hot water, mr muscle sink unplugger liquid, didnt work. I havent got a plunger and cant get one tomor but its really annoying me.
And old fashioned ideas?

Put some bicarbonate of soda down the sink. Then pour some vinegar on it, it will fizz and may help to clear the blockage.

i pop a cup of soda crystals down mine followed by cup vinegar works too

A couple of handfuls of table salt often unblocks sink (and toilets) just chuck it into the undrained water. HTH

How accessible is the waste trap under the sink?

If you can get a bucket underneath it, try to unscrew the fittings. I would wear gloves though, as the Mr Muscle may be still in the pipe.

If your washing machine or dishwasher feeds into the trap as well, then make sure they are off or you could get a wash.

Have you checked the drain outside, to make sure the blockage is not there and it is backing up to the sink?

Shove some coke down the plug hole and watch the blockage buuuurn!

I always pile the plughole up with soda crystals and follow it up with a kettle of boiling water - seems to do the trick!

If this doesn't work, when we had a blocked sink we brought a long spring thing from the DIY shop. Cost under a tenner. It's a very long piece of metal that poked the blockage out for us.
