ESA & Working

No I don't!! I just want to know how I can legally take on this offer of work and that it will not affect my benefits. Otherwise, what is the point in even looking for work. I might as well sit and watch the re-runs of Jeremy Kyle!
The answer seems to be that my wife and children do the work on my behalf, through a business that is registered to them only.
That way I can continue to receive ESA which I am entitled to as confirmed by the DWP/ATOS and is based on the National Insurance Contributions I have paid.
As it won't be you that is actually working then I can't see it being a problem.
I help my daughter out on my good days, this doesn't mean I'm fit to work (yet)Just sold a lawnmower on Ebay.. That's the last time my neighbour will wake me up on a Saturday morning!0 -
Problem may arise in that ESA is not normally paid where one partner is earning a good wage. So if you wife is earning enough to support both of you you will lose the ESA.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Not on the contribution based ESA it doesn't. She could earn anything and it would not affect my claim.0 -
But then that is your own OPINION, and is not backed up with any real evidence is it? You can't just say that because you THINK he is fit for work he should lose his benefits! What is this country coming to?0

I know several people who have problems of various sorts physically (even one with a neck brace) who are suddenly fit and well enough to go drinking all day long. if you are fit enough to drink all day then you are fit enough to work.
I agree with the drinking in a pub all day, but what if they paraplegic for example.
I have read threads about going on holiday whilst claiming ESA. Part of my treatment to aid recovery is to get out as much as possible. We have booked a weeks holiday for next month, this was encouraged by my CPN.
I think this is the problem, it all depends on the persons illness and what they can actually do in a working environment.
Would someone employ someone in a neck brace? What about insurance to cover them?Just sold a lawnmower on Ebay.. That's the last time my neighbour will wake me up on a Saturday morning!0 -

OK, this is just one of the sites I use that offers project work on a self employed contract basis. This is just a selection of what is being offered through agencies and what has been notified this week alone.

Finding the work is not the problem. The problem is to identify what can be carried remotely.
And how this work can be carried out without it creating a problem with my ESA claim.0
