What a silly question!
Yes I go under the name of Wottonby which is actually my surname if it is any of your business.
Why do you ask? And what has that got to do with my original question?
Do you normally ask these sort of questions of people on this site? You are very nosey you know!
Just trying to get to know a 'newbie'!Gone ... or have I?0 -

That's OK. I am finding this situation a bit difficult to navigate around. It just seems to be that as there is no link with me, then everything will work out.
Has there? I couldn't find any reference to a situation like mine on here. I did try on the search forum section but so much came up it confused me.
Anyhow, thanks one and all for the help and advice.0 -

Would that include all of those in the Support Group of ESA, like I am?
How would you define 'those able to work'?
I thought that was what ATOS were paid to do? Maybe ATOS are too easy on benefit claimants then.
I really would love you to tell me how YOU would determine that those able to work should - even if the DWP's own medical assessors say they are unfit for work now at best, and at worst, ever likely to work again.
If you could tell who these people are then you could be saving the state £millions in fees being paid to ATOS!0 -

Don't worry wottonby, dmg accuses all newbies of being Andy.Just sold a lawnmower on Ebay.. That's the last time my neighbour will wake me up on a Saturday morning!0 -
I've seen enough people in my time claiming benefits who are VERY capable of work but just don't want to work to have a fairly good idea who is deserving and who isn't. People that I know who are down the pub every day of the week are not, in my opinion, incapable of work.. If you can get to the pub every day you can get to work
But then that is your own OPINION, and is not backed up with any real evidence is it? You can't just say that because you THINK he is fit for work he should lose his benefits! What is this country coming to?0 -

No I don't!! I just want to know how I can legally take on this offer of work and that it will not affect my benefits. Otherwise, what is the point in even looking for work. I might as well sit and watch the re-runs of Jeremy Kyle!
The answer seems to be that my wife and children do the work on my behalf, through a business that is registered to them only.
That way I can continue to receive ESA which I am entitled to as confirmed by the DWP/ATOS and is based on the National Insurance Contributions I have paid.0 -
Considering the number of people who on these forums state that the WCA is difficult to pass and virtually impossible to get into the support group then surely anyone who has passed must really be unfit to work. How then, unless attempting some kind of work will they ever know if they are fit or not? Or do we just sit around
idle until ATOS and DWP find us fit to work.
Surely it is best for people on ESA to try working in the hope they will succeed, which in return will lead to them signing themselves off ESA?Just sold a lawnmower on Ebay.. That's the last time my neighbour will wake me up on a Saturday morning!0
