And the same is true of the ASDA Price Guarantee - I once wombled a £160 receipt from ASDA where only £50 or so was comparable.
From the point of view of TPC, the point to remember is that does not matter one little bit how close you are to an ASDA, or whether it's the size of an aircraft hanger, or what range it stocks. What matters is what ASDA have for sale on ASDA.com. That what it compares against.0 -
Will they include a henry in this, ive just found it cheaper in asda, i asked them in store if it was price matched he said noDebt £10k , HMRC £3K old debt £4k Jan 2021

I really dont know how you have the time or the inclination to go through bins looking for receipts. Maybe you need to get a bit more of a life!! And of course you do realise that while you are all going out of your way to get money back fraudulently from these supermarkets, that the "normal" and "honest" shopper is having to pay for it? The more the supermarkets have to pay out to you people thy simply get it back by putting up prices.0

Some people do and some people don't. Some people clearly go on 'wombling runs' and scour supermarket car parks. Me, I just keep my eyes open, and if I spot a poor unwanted receipt lying around, I give it a good home.Maybe you need to get a bit more of a life!!
Well it beats hanging around on the interweb, posting random comments on some bulletin board.And of course you do realise that while you are all going out of your way to get money back fraudulently from these supermarkets...
Nothing fradulent about it mate. Check out this story;
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/shopping/2011/03/the-wombler-who-donates-from-asda-and-tesco-bins
and pay particular attention to the sentence "Asda and Tesco say what Stephen does is legal".... that the "normal" and "honest" shopper is having to pay for it? The more the supermarkets have to pay out to you people thy simply get it back by putting up prices.
Well you might well be right, but the same goes for lots of things. I expect all those people who only go to Tesco and buy what's on special offer are being subsidised by the "normal" and "honest" shopper who genuinely does their weekly shop there without regard to the prices they are being charged. But hey ho, that's the way the world works.0 -
Taking advantage of special offers doesnt enter into this. Those offers are already being taken into account on the prices charged. Taking advantage of the price check offer is fine too. But then you get the people on here moaning on about how long it takes to get the voucher through, and how they believe that Tesco are not going to do it for much longer, and its because of them clogging up the system with all their "wombled vouchers!" As usual the majority suffer because of the minority trying to take advantage!
Yes, I am guilty of posting on this board, cant deny that.
I work for Tesco and I can assure you that for every "stupid" member of staff, there are 10 greedy, penny pinching, try every trick in the book, stand here and make a spectacle of myself, swear at everyone in sight, "I know my rights" (they generally dont), obnoxious customers! Not including you in that of course!0 -

And the cost of any TPC vouchers will have been taken into account on the prices charged as well. Of course it's always possible that the losses predicted by Tesco Central Command in respect of any particular promotion turn out to be somewhat off the mark. As in, well DTD for example.Taking advantage of the price check offer is fine too. Funnily enough ASDA don't seem to have the same kind of problem delivering on their APG. ASDA appear to be promoting the heck out of it at the moment without any concerns regarding the volume of transactions thereby created.Yes, I am guilty of posting on this board, cant deny that.
Don't worry, the punishment is comparatively mild.I work for Tesco and I can assure you that for every "stupid" member of staff, there are 10 greedy, penny pinching, try every trick in the book, stand here and make a spectacle of myself, swear at everyone in sight, "I know my rights" (they generally dont), obnoxious customers! Of course not. I'm a very nice person. As it happens I have got not one complaint regarding the behaviour of any Tesco employee. So far (touch wood) they've all been perfectly fine. Granted, I sometimes come across SAs who know less then I do about how they should be doing their jobs, but then that's what CS is for.0 -
Im pretty sure that Tesco only did the price comparison, in a hurry, cos Asda was doing it. They cant bear the thought of anyone doing better than them. And probably like a lot of other things they do, didnt do it properly, and probably only have 2 people trying to run the whole thing!
Thank you for being so nice about tesco staff, some of us arent too bad at all. Catch us on a good day when we havent been shouted at, or had things thrown at us (yes that does happen on CS) we can be reasonably polite and even helpful!0
