we buy the pressies & santa delivers them...same when we visit our families...kids think santa is really clever & knows which stuff to take to ours/nanny's !!!
have never tried the norad site....didn't know about it til June !!!
But I will give it a try this year....0 -
In our house we have a pillowcase instead of a stocking and Father C fills it with pressies. These pressies are inexpensive things but are wrapped and stuffed into the pillowcase so that it 'looks' like the big guy has left loads of stuff. The children dive in and rip the paper off in a frenzy. We pretend that we're really surprised at the stuff they're opening

Mum and Dad (us) buy the nice, carefully thought out or expensive presents which go under the tree and are passed around and opened considerately and with many 'thank you's'.
It's funny, I can't imagine being a child and coming down in the morning to one gift from Father Christmas
I would've been devastated as a child.
Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
My 6yo DD came home from school a few weeks ago very upset as some child had told her that Father Christmas doesn't exist and she had lots of questions that she wanted answers to
In the end, because she was so upset I asked her if she believed in Father Christmas, to which she said "yes" so I said that as long as she believed in him, then he existed. This stopped the tears, and then she said "Ha! That means that XXXXXX won't be getting a visit from Father Christmas then!!". Problem sorted, she's not said a word about it since.0 -
My parents always put a few small presents under the tree, from themselves, so it never occured to us that we only got presents from Santa. I do this with my children too, its a tradition.keep smiling,

I'm 32 and have never had a Christmas present off my Mum and Dad, everything has always been from Santa. Never thought to question it until now!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Ive always told my children, that people buy them presents, and then Father Christmas and his elves collect them ready to bring back on xmas eve. If they are good, he brings them all back, if they are naughty, then he will bring some/none/coal back!!!! This way, they know who has bought what and can thank them accordingly!!!!
DD has just said to me (shes 8) that some people dont believe in Father Christmas, but just because you dont/cant see him, doesnt mean hes not real, so she is still a believer!!!!0 -
lol at all the different "stories" and traditions people have

in our house the stockings and the "main" present ,and a few other things wrapped up are from father christmas( our 2 boys know though that every child cant have everything they want and that father christmas will bring what he can afford lol and what he thinks the child deserves
)
i find the whole "mummy and daddy buys it but sends it off to santa " thing really weird lol
and im with you jay - jay id have been gutted and would be gutted for my kids if they only had 1 present from "father christmas"

Santa only brought a stocking with a few small bits and pieces in it.
This is how it happened for me as a child and how we do it in our house.
