Can I please tell people to stop expanding on this thread. The original question was answered.

The housing association bought out the next door property, and voila! Devalued the whole streets property market value. It will also make it hard for me to sell but not impossible.

The noise and lack of upkeeping issue is a different matter. But I need to draw to people attention, that this WAS the initial thing that got me to find out that something was wrong.

To even stop people thinking it was an original debate. I can tell you now that you get all walks of life no matter where you live!

More and more drug dealers are buying into private estates. More and more people who earn a living have lost their houses and now living in housing association etc etc.

So... if people can read the thread. I only wanted one answer. If my property would be devalued. Even if I added the so called extra sentences, it is my opinion. Like other opinions on this thread.

I wish I was some prude who was rich. But I am not and no where near that stage.

All I need to say, if you saved for a lot of years and bought a specific asset i.e. a house and to be told that your property was reduced in value due to an event. How would you feel? Same like me?

I still think that private properties should remain as private properties. Why should my hard earned money be robbed blindly in this way.

If you lived in chelsea and a so-called housing association bought out a chelsea flat worth more than £500k, and devalued the area? Who would be the angry person? These people probably would have money to sue.

Anyway, end of the story. If people want to further debate about this issue, could they just open another thread.

Even although this is a thread you created you can't tell other MSE members what to post or insist on people do not debate the issue further. Threads are often answered in the first half dozen replies and then expand out into related areas.

    Stand your ground OP.

You are entitled to ask/state /have an opinion as are others.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • Yeah but in his last post his exact words were

" Can I please TELL people to stop expanding on this thread. "

Not his call I'm afraid and also not on to TELL other posters what to do!!!!

If he feels so strongly he can delete his thread or ask for it to be removed.

Noticed I said he CAN or he can ASK.

Erm. Sorry for the above. Did not want it to be a debate about the other thing. It was mean't to be directed of devaluation of house price based on a company buying in a private area.

Unfortunately, if you were in my situation you may see my side of things.

And for the people who can not read. In no way of form did I state that people who live in house estates or councils work or not. Please read the main start of the forum.

My main concern is that a major housing association has come in and bought out the next door property and devalued my property and others in doing so.

Either yes or no - based on the above matter, this has happened. In this particular way of form in buying the property, the law has once again is messed up.

No... I'm not saying that because someone else or other buys a property - the neighbour or close should be informed. I am stating that the housing association should have a decency for people in the vicinity who have bought a house to be informed. There is no law at the moment to say that they should.

Anyway, the answer has been stated.

For people who have yet to feel or know why I posted. The main reason is that how I found out was due to the neighbour now making a racket of a noise day in day out. They don't work.

They don't up keep their house. It is like a jungle. They now park and block my gates and I can't get out. The way I found out was searching the next door property on the net. Low and behold, I get my horror.

No it shouldnt devalue your property to having a housing association house next door
