Rant and query regarding neighbours

I fully understand and appreciate the views expressed by some re people in social housing also working/being decent people/good neighbours etc..
Its true..there is good and bad everywhere.
I've been there,lived in a council house,been p&ss poor etc ..
BUT
I do fully support a clear demarcation. I think that social housing should be discrete from mortgaged/owned housing.
Various governments, particularly Labour and two Jags, have promoted social experimentation and this thing they call fairness by migling social housing in with new housing.
We also have the rise of buy to let blight.
Against all this, how do middle earners stand..those who can afford to mortgage and buy a semi somewhere?
It used to be an aspirational thing. You worked hard and got to live in the nicer areas with people who had similar values and aspirations.
Now..yes you can work hard but equally, you could have a social tenant living beside you who has the same as you but hasnt worked as hard/not at all for it.
Does that sound very fair?
I'm, not a great advocate of fairness and i think its a nice to have but not a right.
Dabble with such traditional standards at your peril
Someone please justify why for example Mr and Mrs Carruthers who work hard and have bought a 3 bed semi in a nice cul de sac in suburbia with the obligatory plastic wendy house stuck on the back (is that a peculiarly British thing?) should be joined by a family of dolehoppers who sit at home all day ?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Erm. Sorry for the above. Did not want it to be a debate about the other thing. It was mean't to be directed of devaluation of house price based on a company buying in a private area.
Unfortunately, if you were in my situation you may see my side of things.
And for the people who can not read. In no way of form did I state that people who live in house estates or councils work or not. Please read the main start of the forum.
My main concern is that a major housing association has come in and bought out the next door property and devalued my property and others in doing so.
Either yes or no - based on the above matter, this has happened. In this particular way of form in buying the property, the law has once again is messed up.
No... I'm not saying that because someone else or other buys a property - the neighbour or close should be informed. I am stating that the housing association should have a decency for people in the vicinity who have bought a house to be informed. There is no law at the moment to say that they should.
Anyway, the answer has been stated.
For people who have yet to feel or know why I posted. The main reason is that how I found out was due to the neighbour now making a racket of a noise day in day out. They don't work.
They don't up keep their house. It is like a jungle. They now park and block my gates and I can't get out. The way I found out was searching the next door property on the net. Low and behold, I get my horror.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'

TR,
You might think that you are clarifying your OP (although your comprehension is a little weak to say the least) but you are compounding the argument. Why should you be informed as to who the owner of a property is? If they pay market value, then there will be no impact on the overall value of properties in your area. Who they actually are is irrelevant in that matter.
You make a second point about a neighbour who is causing a problem. That is a wholly separate issue to the one above.
You might however find that a well to do family with no normal work pattern cause just as many problems. Both posts smack of snobbery which is why you have received responses which decry the value of your complaint. You might want to refocus on the fact that you have a noisy neighbour and seek advice on dealing with that. You will be much more likely to receive directed advice.0 -
I know that Council tenants have a duty to keep their gardens nice and tidy, so if it's just down to that then contact the HA.
I can assure you that not people who are on benefits keep an untidy house, heck i am disabled but try to keep mine looking nice, even if not to my standard that i would like (teen has a go)0 -

I am in support of the OPs post.
If i came to view his house as a possible purchase and i was made aware that there was social housing next door/in the very near vicinity, i would jog on. equally, if at the time of viewing, i was aware of buy to lets as neighbours/close by, i;d jog on.
But let me offer the OP a glimmer of hope.
It is understandable that you are anxious.
You;d be equally anxious if the house next door was for sale and bought privately.
In battery hen Britain, where we have the crummiest, smallest and most expensive homes in Europe if not the vworld, the close proximity of our fellow cage birds does cause concern.
If your HA neighbours misbehave, you can approach them and then the HA for recourse.
If howver you have an owner occupier next door and they misbehave..what can you do? Line the pockets of solicitors fighting pointless battles?/Move?/ fight them in the street?...
Having LA/HA tenants next door is preferable to having BTLs and Owner occs when it comes to justified squabbles.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). why not,
now this statement of yours is very snobbish..
I mean I'm a 'dolehopper' i assume, being on benefits and being a single mum and letting the state pick up my bills.. why would you feel that i am not suitable to live next door to Mr and Mrs Carruthers, just based that i don't work......0 -
Council Estates should have a big fence around them.
You should be searched for drugs, knives or other weapons on the way in, if you aren't carrying any, you should be issued with a selection.0 -
