Front garden is full of weeds, and has been for a number of years.
Sometimes I look at it and think wouldn't it be nice to get it sorted -most of the time though I don't even bother to look at it.
So OP what would you say if I lived next door to you?
I would have to call in the !!!!! to sort you out. How dare you not have a perfect front garden. All my grass is exactly the same length. I measure it with a ruler every Tuesday. If it is not perfect I give the wife a good beating as it is her fault.Iva started Dec 2018.0 -

interesting, very interesting my dear watson!0 -
The OP sounds like a right ole' non-sensical wotnot... he defends his argument by compounding it... ahh dear.. life would be dull without 'em! if not at least less stressful..
I used to be on Benefit (haven't we all?) and I'm the most tidy quiet person you could meet, so I too resent the pre-judging. Having read further in this thread though although there are plenty of exceptions, I guess it's probably true that the percentage of people on benefit who don't look after their home and are noisy / anti-social, is probably higher than the percentage of full-time workers. As a result they make the rest look bad to some people I guess. I suspect the noise or behaviour probably just down to how much time they have on their hands rather than the fact they're on benefit.
I can see all sides of the coin on this oneIt must be tricky to deal with too because you don't want to go upsetting people, regardless of whether your neighbours are benefit or not.. dealing with noisy neighbours is something I think can sometimes be impossible.

Do we have a choice? If for example, i didnt work,no one would look after me. Being single and male,i;d be left to rot in the gutter unless some kindly Socialist took me in ,bathed my wounds and fed me.
No..whether we like it or not,we are all imprisoned and forced to play our part in the Capitalist system and make as much of it as we can.
Presumably you too work and therefore also play your part?
I was watching a documentary about Cuba a couple of weeks ago. A guy was describing his life. He is provided with an apartmenr by the government which he bought for a few hundred dollars. He has to sell it back to the government if he moves out. Everyone gets ration books for their share of food to be collected at appointed outlets. fancy clothes and electrical goods are very scarce and expensive.
Being someone who was brought up p%ss poor on a council estate,i could survive there. My needs are few.
I wonder how many of us could manage without being able to shop and buy what we like though?
There must be some happy medium.
Plenty of people in China and North Korea are dying to escape the other extreme of Communism.
In the end, none of us ordinary people are truly free. Its just an illusion. You are only truly free when you are dead.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

Why is everyone getting angry with the guy - hes asking a valid question.
Its a well known fact , people who live in council / HA housing are more likely to be on benefits and more likely to commit crime . Sure some people in council / HA homes may work , but not everyone.
How else can you explain why crime is so high on council estates.0 -

Various governments, particularly Labour and two Jags, have promoted social experimentation and this thing they call fairness by migling social housing in with new housing....
It's actually the other way around. Various governments, particularly Labour have promoted a clear demarcation between public and private housing. Labour councils (in particular) were infamous for building whopping great big council estates which by happy co-incidence produced ultra-safe Labour constituncies/ wards.
Personally I'm all in favour of mixing up 'social housing' (as we are apparently now supposed to call it) with owner occupied dwellings. It might make the latter appreciate that the former aren't all workshy layabouts, and the former appreciate that the latter aren't all toffee nosed prats who couldn't give a damn about themselves.
He says, writing from a 3 bed semi (actually 4, I had it extended) in a nice cul de sac (well almost) in suburbia, sadly lacking a wendy house stuck on the back (plastic or otherwise) that looks out on a number of council houses where some quite nice people live actually.0 -

My God not only am I on drink and drugs, according to purplelila i probably committing crime.. ;p
I like the odd G & T
been bought up to respect other people and their property, actually i don't have a police record, never been in trouble with the police, and the only drugs i do are my disease modifying ones for my MS.
Damn i must be the odd one out.
When i lived on a council estate, the majority of crime was by the drug dealers and their customers... customers that didn't live on the council estate, you know the kids in Uni, looking for a local dealer.
drunks... student housing on the estate........ students moved in drink involved crime went through the roof...
But i'm not pointing the finger at student, people of all walks of life commit crime.. not just the poor in council estates, you'll find trouble is bought to the estates0
