you do know that you have NO RIGHT to park on private land. Shopping car parks are still private. The only reason you get away without the fines is they cant be bothered to go to court. if they did, you would lose every time.

I think if you took time to have a look at the planning permission for these supermarkets/retail parks they have to provide free parking.
This is measured by the Sqm of retail space equals a certain amount of cars.

However I do agree that they should be able to control their own land. Unfortunately they have given the task to the wrong people.

We have an Asda near here its in a town centre so people park there to shop in the town centre. They charge a £1 to park P&D and you get it knocked off your bill if you spend a £5.
Now nearly everybody pays and either gets it back at Asda,or accepts its a good deal to pay. Now those that don't pay, Asda do zilch, nowt, nuthin because they know its not worth the hassle. Plus they dont pi55 customers off not with chasing the fee, but they dont have the contrived "offences" the PPC's dream up.

When they play fair, we play fair. If they'd like a pound per vehicle for running the service, keeping it clean, lines repainted when needed, every decent individual will honour this. Of course there will be the occasional abuser taking advantage of the "they don't say they fine so they won't" scheme. I don't believe we should take Dave's comments seriously from this point onward.

This thread contains my seminal post, the day I became a member! Without people concerning themselves too much with my declared actions (they no longer apply, I don't touch disabled spaces), can I ask if anyone knows anything about two collection companies whose filth came through the letterbox only today. One concerns this thread subject and is from Debt Recovery Plus who claim on their website that they have made several CCJ applications and list them (but don't state whether the application was successful, or for what the subject was - doesn't always have to be parking, can be unpaid gas or electricity, completely different); the other is for one of the Euro Car Parks incidents, this is from Controlaccount plc. Does anyone know anything about them? How many times do these pigs send you documents? May they try court? I'm not worried either way because I haven't named the driver and I am happy enough to use the actual losses argument on the day of the race (if it comes). Are these known scammers or a fraction reputable?

I've sent them letters of repudiation by the way, told them to take the matters to court and I pledged to send their rubbish back to them if they write again. I do with with Roxburghe anyhow but I didn't recognise these wingbag's envelopes when they arrived. I do now'

As far as I know DRP have never gone near court, several CCJ's probably refer's to a proper buisness debt where they could possibly get them enforced.

Euro car prats dont do courtthey tried once or twice and lost both, contacc are just another spammer. They'll both keep sending their spam in the hope that you will fold normally 4 - 5 letters for the whole chain to completion.

Thanks very much. It's nice to hear it from someone who knows.

PS - ignore Dave101's apologetic remarks. They were posted a long time ago, this thread has been asleep for several weeks. You always get one buffoon - the best thing to do is not satisfy them by replying, but by ridiculing him when addressing the OP. The last thing we need is an OP with a genuine concern who finally gives in and pays because of obtuse remarks by the likes of Dave101.

i am in a bit of a difficult situation and need a bit of advice, i got home from work today to find 2 cars which are in our care have recieved parking tickets for being parked without tax and it states the cars will be removed within 3 days, however the land is private and jointly owned by the 15 owners of the properties in which the land is a car park to. the chairman of the association (who only puts the owners requests into action he does not have any additional powers over the land) seems to have signed over the car park to a parking enfforcment company but it is not the company who issued the ticket. there are signs which say private car parking but we jointly own the land so are not sure about where we stand when it comes to this ticket. i hope this makes sence i am quite angry about it as the chairman is a mini hitler. carina

If it wasn't the parking company who issued the ticket who was it?

They are not abandoned car notices are they?

One thing is for certain. This is private land and therefore NOBODY has the right to push you for arbitrary demands. We can discuss this as in depth as you wish, over as long as you need, but promise us all that you won't pay come hell or high water.

Might they be DVLA/Police notices for not showing valid tax-disc?

Any names of companies or contact details on the notices?
