Well, if you are sure that you had not requested this, ask them to provide you with the record or transcript of the phone call.
Meanwhile accept the payment plan and keep paying, but make it clear that you don't accept the charges and keep disputing them.

If they cannot prove that you requested removing the bundle you will claim the money back later.

Did you download any apps? Some of those apps whilst you were at work in the UK with or without your microsim? Some apps are enormous in size and could account for that much data easily?

    What tariff?
    Was it UK only?

See this recent thread: Huge data charges from orange...Help
Pay attention to the post #3.
  • I'm on Talkshare 1 tariff!! And yes in the uK. They are saying that my son must have downloaded an app and it's just kept running. My monthly bill is normally £200 ish. Why dont they warn you when your account is extremely abnormally high???? I daren't even tell the husband yet till I can try and get it sorted. They are sending me details of the data so I'll know what it is, but my boys never use their phone to go online or anything it's purely for ringing people, they both have I pads and laptops for that??? We'll see, well if I dont have a heart attack before then!!!!

    £200?

I think this forum is not for you. I guess your husband will not even notice some £2.8K disappearing from his account.

I was going to upgrade with Orange and they seemed a bit shifty about out of data limit charges on their "unlimited" internet packages. On pressing I discovered the unlimited limit was a puny 500mb, I almost dropped a sock when I insisted on knowing what happened after that and the guy said it would cost almost a pound per megabyte.

I wouldnt even consider using a smartphone with Orange to be honest, their charges are absolutely extortionate and completely disproportional to the costs in supplying the service.
  • Its shared for 4 phones and 2 dongles, that's why it's normally £200, it's a business account, and we dont have that sort of money, i wouldn't be on here asking for advice and asbolutely in worried sick if I could afford it.
