Pizza Hut...Why so lacklustre?

If the service was that bad you need to write to head office and they will most likely send you some vouchers to say sorry, but you'll need your reciept if you have it so they can see where, when and who served you. Then the individual will be pulled on it. When going into a pizza hut they have 30 seconds to great you, and 3 minutes to seat you unless they otherwise say there will be a wait for a table. Once your drink is down to 1/3 they must offer free refils. Plates are a MUST! As is giving you there name after they have took your order incase you need their attention for anything.
As for the waiters/waitresses all been just young kids there is a reason for this....it is only young kids who apply for the jobs. Older people don't apply for the jobs very often. Some think it is beneath them and are only happy to be "served" and not to "serve". And they aren't on minimum wage. Not the best wage i must admit but its not too bad. But usually the tips more than make up for it....along with the free pizza your entitled to every shift.
The reason i know this? I worked for them for years. Loved it. Best job i ever had. My "mystery customers" always left me glowing reports and i worked my way up to support manager. If they hadn't closed the branch where i worked i would still be there now. Lol....Even though i'm 29. :-)Slimming World Challenge 2017 0/30.5lb

Sounds like poor management at that particular one.0

Thanks to those of you who saw the point of the thread, which was that I don`'t believe we should have to experience attitude and bad service when we go out.
I has no bearing whatsover if I am a high spending customer or not.
I do not expect free vouchers, compo or anything else.
If some people are happy with being made to feel invisble or a hinderance then so be it,maybe their training plan is 'off' or maybe that particular place has underlying bad feeling amongst staff..
I too have had my share of rubbish poorly paid Saturday jobs,so I am not on some high perch expecting special service.0 -
I couldn't fault our local one - I was in on Saturday and everyone was very friendly. I would put a complaint in if I were you.0

Not sure which one you went to, SnowBelle, but your experience certainly echoes mine. The last time I went to a Pizza Hut I stood just inside the door waiting to be seated as is the practice. We were clocked a couple of times by various members of staff, but still left to stand there like lemons. After 5 minutes seemingly no nearer to being seated whilst watching a couple of the people who worked there have a chat we turned round and left."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Did you go for pizza or to make new friends?
It sounds to me like you were served efficiently, but want more.
I can't believe some posters are advising you to dob them in to head office and possibly lose them their jobs, just because they didn't kiss your a55.
You went in with half price vouchers - hardly high rollers are you?
It's not about wanting their a** kissed, it's more to do with the fact that the waiters are employed to maintain a service and a reputation. It doesn't matter how much they're paid or whether the customer comes in with half price vouchers, they should be given a service. I mean for goodness sake, you're b*tching because the OP 'wants more'? No, she wanted to be treated like a valued customer, like everyone else. At the end of the day, PH are there to provide a service to the general public, if they fail to meet that then they deserve to lose their jobs. PH have a reputation to maintain and like all other companies some bad press could lose them money. Head office should know when one of their restaurants falls below their standards.0 -
Ok l'm standing against the wall ready be be stoned for what you are about to read.....
OP, l wonder if you would have had the same treatment if the staff members involved were of lets say more a mature age. It is my opinion that some younger people just don't grasp the idea of good customer service/satisfaction, they are very clearly there to earn their wage and no more than that, and some feel it a hindrance to actually to do the work to earn it. Do l dare to carry on and suggest that if the place of work hasn't got the latest music blasting out so you can't hear yourself think, it is considered by some to a boring place to work.
I base my opinions from my experience in previous employment/s as function managers, and during my time with Trust House Forte' (wow that was some time ago now) and of course my experience as a customer.
If l was to return to that career l would prefer to employ the more mature person as they for example would not serve a customer a meal if they wouldn't put it front of their own family at the dinner table. It goe's without saying that its not just younger people who can provide poor customer service and appear to have attitude, but this is my view.
Edited to add....it is also my opinion that across the board the loyalty to the employer and to the employee in general has really got worse over the years for various reasons.
Ok.....fire away0 -

The front of house are on 5.93 which is minimum wage isn't it? I also used to work at Pizza Hut for quite a few years, my first few years were great but then management changed and the woman was far more interested in cutting down labour to increase her bonus than the customers or staff being happy. It resulted in most of the staff having no respect for their job anymore. There were 2 or 3 of us who actually did our job properly, everyone else didn't give a toss and left all the work for us and the manager wasn't bothered, as long as she saved on hours. It ended up with every shift being horribly understaffed and hugely stressful, not worth it for minimum wage and practically no tips (understandably).0 -
If some people are happy with being made to feel invisble
To be honest, when i go anywhere for a meal the ideal scenario is:- get drinks
- order food
- get food
- eat food
- pay
- leave
