Afternoon all
Butterfly Brain (LOVE your user name) - Thanks so much for your suggestions of how to use up my fruit n veg. I'd never heard of lime curd so will be trying that ... and DEF banoffee pie which is one of my fav's. I haven't been very imaginitive in the past with my fruit so it will be great to play with these ideas
 Also ... never would have thought to add g/fruit to sald and as for drying out the cherry tomatoes ... well that's just genious
Well what a lovely day so farMy client postponed this morning so went to a friends house for a cuppa. On the way home I picked up some chicken and sausages and cooked them on the last of the disposable bbq's left from last yrs end of season sales.
Some of DD's friends knocked on - they're only about 8 yrs old but roam the streetsThey were starving so DD's laid out a blanked on the front garden and I served them up boiled potatoes with butter and fresh mint, carrot/cucumber slices, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, lots of bread n butter to fill them up
... and of course some bbq'd chicken and sausages
While the bbq was on I put all the leeks, tomatoes and beetroot, an onion, some potatoes, veg stock and seasoning in the stock pot and have made lots of lovely thick soup
DD's have just got in from playing with their friends so we're having a pamper afternoon with baths, smellies, hair and nails before watching the "So you think you can dance" final and having an early nightJUST DO IT ONE BRICK AT A TIMEPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTSWeekly Budget: groceries£50/petrol£50/Unnecesary£15DEBT PAID = 58% (£4,212/£8216):T0 -
DGS came over & we made cheese spread sandwiches for lunch & flapjacks for him to take home & did some drawing, he also played with my mini punches, I have 3 a butterfly, heart & a flower. He picked some strawberries from the garden & he found a toad, this was a big greeny grey one. He chattered away about school & his friends & he helped me do some clearing up, next time we will make chocolate brownies. He was so good & seemed to enjoy himself, he's looking forward to coming over again.

hugs to those that need....
Made choc.chip cookies and a tray of brownies to take up to my soldier son.we only saw him last weekend but he sounded like he needed a pick me up on the phone last night,,,,,,,,,drove 90 mins to spend an hour with him outside of the gates and then home again.stopped for lunch on way back so not a very moneysaving day but always good to see ds. I filled a bag with drinks and other snacks for him and his friends which is always appreciated I know......
Off for a natter with friend who has been abroad fo a couple of weeks and then I must have a tidy up before watching tv tonight. My house is a real tip and no kids here at the moment to blame it on......
Have a good weekend........0 -
Just catching up....
Gintot (((HUGS)))
Sidney's been to the pub with us; our usual one has a canalside gala on this weekend which would be too much for Sid, and prob for me as well; unfortunately I can no longer get into our "other" one, as I can't get up the steps any more, but we were able to go and sit in the garden there, as it was sunny.
Mr LW is going to cook egg'n'chips in a bit (I'm not sure if he realises this yet);), and I need to get Sidney fed, so better go and do that.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Evening all!
Well, am once again skint, went today and ordered my new kitchen and bathroom, and just to stress me out the work starts 2 days after we get back from Menorca, must be mad, but have waited sooooooo long for them and it will be worth it in the end!
Picked up holiday tickets today too, 2 weeks tomorrow will be in the sunshine!
Absolutely nothing OS achieved today, washing draped all over as its been wet and miserable here most of the day!RIP Iain
