    Suns out here

Got loads of paperwork done yesterday, typed out a to do list of all old stuff I need to write letters on or phonecalls on, determined to get my backlogged cleared.
Spent 15 minutes on hold to EDF but finally got to speak to someone helpful.
Booked by Collie in the dog groomers but they cant fit him in until July - must be a good business.
As I had my doing head on I decided to go through DD bedroom at 6.30 last night - a whole bag full of rubbish - it made me late for pub but feel good it's done.
DS1 off swimming with mates, DS2 down skatepark on BMX, DD happy with new room as we found old toys not played with in ages.
    Rabbits are out on lawn.
Burgers n sausages today to use up from freezer.

    Morning all

((Hugs)) to all - as said you know who you are!

Had a nice stay at the Premier Inn Waltham Abbey - would recommend it.

15 mins from the Channel Tunnel, so we may make a slightly earlier crossing.

Will be at Bordeaux before I can post again, tonight.

Took DS + GF a food parcel - chicken, mince + sausages for DS + GF is vwggie, but now eats fisht again :). Plus Pasta, Passatta, veg and salad stuff from Aldi. It was lovely to see how organise they(she) were. She had a menu plan on the fridge door (DS cooks) and a list of spares in a high cupboard, so they do not waste.

Have a good Saturday . Take care all DG

Morning :hello: Long time, no talk :D

I'm in a mess :o I've had loads of work over the past couple of weeks, everything at home has gone to pot. As have I :D I tend to dip after lunch, but because I've been busy, I've reached for the choc every day to keep me going. Damn you Cadbury's, for inventing Chocos :rotfl: Really need to sort out my eating habits.

We went shopping yesterday, it came to £108  Mr tru sorted the freezers out when we got back. Now we can actually see what we've got, we can cross quite a lot off our next few shopping lists.

We have 12 litres of homemade elderflower champagne (well 10 and a half, I've already drunk a bottle) and another 12 brewing, we'll be bottling that on wednesday. Yum yum.

The tomato plants are still small, flowers are appearing though. Usually the plants end up taller than me, this year the tallest is only about 2'. We've been eating loads of salad leaves and radishes though. All the garden veg is doing well, it's the greenhouse that's a let-down.

We're trying to get our elec bill down. Recently I've bought a carpet sweeper (got fed up using a brush, lol) and a hand lawnmower. It's cuts better than our last 2 mowers - one petrol and one electric. The extra effort to push it might burn off those Chocos :D

I've got 6 designs for notebooks, mini notepads and calendars. Couldn't cope with my little paper trimmer (it only cuts 3 sheets at a time and didn't have a big base with measurements) so I treated myself to a proper guillotine with measurements up to A4, and a big blade rather than a little slidey thing.

I've got loads to do today, must crack on. I recorded my fave programs this week and I've booked an hour with the Winchesters this afternoon -

    Morning All

Hugs to those who need them :( xxx

We had buckets of rain last night - was hoping it meant OH would get a day off, but as he is mowing he can still cut the fields and then leave it to dry before turning it and collecting it all up. So he left the house at 7:30.

It was OH's grandads birthday yesterday and is my grandads today so happy birthdays all round here! Going out with OH's family for dinner tonight to celebrate (Hopefully OH will be home in time to come, if not i'm greatfull that i get on well with his family and i won't feel out of place without him) My grandad lives in Scotland so sent him a card and will call him later when i get my hands on a phone as seem to have left mine at work (i hope or who knows where that has gone!)

Got to do a top to bottom house clean once i've finished my coffee, then walk the dog and then sort some paperwork for OH. Wish i had a supermarket that wasn't waitrose within walking distance, it's so expensive to get anything from there (except whoopsied food is amazing, they love to reduce things to about 75% of the original price)

Hope you all have lovely days x

    Morning All,

    Hugs where needed. xxxxx

Thanks for your concern Tappers and NPM :) We have indeed all had terrible colds, and I appear to have caught another one, and am feeling wiped out this morning. I am up out of bed and fighting it though, as I have too much to do. The boys have been off school since Tuesday, I had two days off as did OH to look after them, which means he only has three day's wages next week  and its MOT time for his car, but we will just have to manage. DS1 still have the most awful cough, and will be going to the walk in clinic this morning when he wakens.

Not much OS been going on, although I got loads and loads of Scottish strawberries at Tesco reduced to 49p per punnet, so have made some strawberry jam and sauce, and raspberries too, which became a sauce, and we have had lots to eat, and in smoothies too, which should help with the illness. I made soup yesterday, and DH finally cut the grass on Thursday as it was dry for longer than ten minutes :)

    Hope you are all well,

    Morning all

((((hugs)))) to all those in need xx

It's a beautiful start to the day here :) but meant to rain later. Today I'm off with the girls to Bristol to visit our friend who is pregnant. We are having a little baby shower for her. We have a big basket of baby stuff to give her, and we going out for lunch. Should be a fab day.

Yesterday was great fun with my cousins. We had chips for tea in the flat, then left my nan here watching tv whilst I took them out exploring the coast line and the dock. had lots of fun, and gave my nan a break too. I was exhausted at the end though!

OS wise - again not much today! DW may go on later, and freezer meal for tea.

    Have a good day all

HH - what a lovely idea to spend 1-2-1 time with each of your grandchildren

Moorhen - one of my clients was telling me that when they lived in inner city London, a fox used to follow them when they walked their dog!! She said it was quite scary but it never did anything, just regularly followed them up and down the pavements.

I've got LOADS of fruit and veg to use up and not sure what to do with it all so will have a hunt on here in a minute ....

grapefruit, pineapple, limes, oranges, apples, bananas, leeks, beetroot, tomatoes, onions, sweet peas, cherry tomatoes, potatoes, cauliflour, lettuce , carrots, cabbage, cucumer

:D If anyone has any ideas what they would do with this lot and how you'd make it stretch then I'd love to hear them.

My usual trick when I have this much is to prep it all, put it in a stock pot and make lots of soup with the veg. As for the fruit ... well I'm ashamed to say that that some of that usually goes off

Today I've got a couple hours of work to do this morning and then the rest of the day off to enjoy with DD's. If it dries up we'll spend some time in the garden and if not we'll play board games .... either way there will definitely be some cooking going on in the kitchen

Hope everyone has a great day what ever you're up to and sending BIG (((HUGS))) to all those who want/need them xx

Good base for a salad with the lettuce and tomatoes and cucumber, You could also do cheese and pineapple on sticks

Grapefruit segments added to a salad are lovely

Lime Curd with the limes ( make just like a lemon curd)

You could freeze the apples, cauliflower, leeks, carrots and cabbage or make a tasty home made soups e.g. leek and potato soup, french onion soup, vegetable soup

As for the potatoes you could roast them ( till just coloured) or make them into wedges and freeze them.
The cherry tomatoes could be dried or made into a sauce and put into jars for cooking.

Bananas = Banana Cake or Banofee pie (both can then be frozen )

    Morning All

I am planning a busy day because DH, DD and her BF and DS are going down to help with the school summer fete so peace reigns :j
First I am going down to the market to get some bits and bobs then back home to declutter the utility room

Molly... It is a right royal C**k up this year on Exams smiley-angry002.gif . They should check all the papers before they are given out smiley-angry002.gif and I think the kids should be allowed to sit them again even though it causes them stress at least it will be fairer

I hope everyone has good days ((((((Hugs)))))) to all who need one x
